Val Kilmer might pass as Gilmour with Edward Norton as Waters. Both are great actors and we know how well Val handled Jim Morrison.
Speaking of prog biopics, I've always liked to see a film about Frank Zappa. I can't think of a better actor to play him than John Tuturro. He's got the acting chops and certainly the look. And a good director would be Milos Forman. He's great at doing off-the-wall rebels like Larry Flynt and Andy Kaufman.

In Pirates Depp did an imitation of Keith Richard. As Willie Wonker, he did Michael jackson. So who's persona might he adopt for Syd Barrett?

He said he wants to portray Syd in a movie, don't think there are any plans yet.

MikeEnRegaliaWhat makes you think that he's being exploited? As far as I know, he's still receiving royalties for the airplay of the titles he wrote for PF.[/QUOTE wrote:

I'd much rather see a movie about the 1980-81 tour and subsequent breakup of floyd
but the depp thing'd be cool too!

I read that he wanted to make a movie about Syd, but not that he was going to star in it.
