Infrared works well for Predators. On the whole, I am just grateful to be able to see at all.

Interesting thread, I'd like to know if the scientists have already discovered what is the kind of 'invisible communication' that has been proved to exist between two twin (monocigotic or univitelin) people when they are at a very distant place one from the other. The related facts that I've already known always intrigued me.

Probably we can not define the "senses" as independent things from the "brain". Strictly speaking I don't think that synesthesia involves activity in other sensory organs, but it does trigger activity in areas of the brain which are also involved in processing other senses. I see it more as a matter of "associations in the brain" rather than actual cross-activity between senses.

stupid question is stupid,
can synesthesia, be related to a way that you descrie to wee music rather then only listen to music, is synesthesie a sensoral thing (not in a sensoral organ, but more of a sensoral sensaton), is it related to innfrared spectrum (that was the stupid question=)

I guess that in our terrestrial mundane environments there's much more going on at infravisible frequencies than at ultravisible (unless you are particularly interested in looking up and seeing astronomical high-energy events). So to infrared my vote goes. I wonder what it would be like to "see" the radio (a Prog station of course)
