Colts tried to make it exciting, but overall...no surprises.

Seahawks/Saints was a bit disappointing in terms of excitement but that probably should've been expected thinking about it.
Was business as usual for Seattle: Tough defense, lots of Lynch, minimal but efficient passing game. Pretty much exactly as expected, very solid win for Seattle.
Wow 4 rushing New England TDs?? Crazy game. Guess with their diminished passing attack NE is gunna run through the playoffs.
Edit: Make it 5 rushing TDs. Wow, Blount is a helluva back. LOL or 6 rushing TDs...damn you Pats making me like and respect you for this game

Seattle's banged up O-line and receivers not getting open today really hurt the offense. Just a good thing that the defense played one of their best games of the year. That, plus many mistakes by the Saints just proved too costly for them at the end.

Well in the grand scheme of it all, Saints come away with a D win...I was impressed. Knew they would not win but turns out they were in the game the whole time. SEA cannot play like this next week or they will be done, that was not a SB team win...time to step it up. I now put my Saints jersey away....next week rootin for the Hawks!

Same here, ugly but a win. Seahawks pass offense was horrible, has too improve, glad the D and the Beast was up for it. I hate the onside kick.
I now switch from the Seahawks shirt to the Pat's shirt.
Phew.

Ouch they just missed that field goal. Gotta give the Saints credit though this is a lot closer than I thought it would be.

Just too much for the Saints....Could be 20-0, so some props to Saints D. But the O is lackluster, nothing there. See what the 2nd half holds...

Also:
I guess it's time to make predictions about this weekend.
Seahawks (a closer game then the one a few weeks ago, but a fairly strong win for the 'Hawks)
Pats (not a blowout, but a comfortable win)
49ers (a close, low scoring affair with a late field goal being the difference)
Chargers (hey...I said it last time and it worked...superstition demands I continue with the trend.

Also, to keep up with Giants news...
It has been revealed that David Wilson will undergo neck surgery and that the upper brass don't expect him to be ready for the start of 2014.

Indeed. Can't say it was the greatest game ever because of that first half, but I think it was quite good, and a fitting finale to the BCS era.

The counter argument of course is that the best record doesn't equate to the best team. If that were true North Dakota State should have played Florida State last night instead of Auburn, since North Dakota State has a 15-0 record. Green Bay had the worst record of all playoff teams yet won their division. The NFC North also had the #3, 6, 8 and 13 teams in total offense for the season. Seattle has the best record in the NFC but the teams in their division finished 12, 17, 24 and 30th in total offense. On the flip side the NFC North teams were 16, 25, 30 and 31st in total defense while the NFC West teams were 1st, 5th, 6th and 15th. One could argue the NFC West teams had better defense stats because their teams had inferior offenses, with the same argument in reverse for the NFC North's offenses. IMHO the current playoff model is the best option unless the NFL moves to a schedule where the in-season matchups are more balanced.

Not sure if/where there is an NCAA thread, just wanna make a quick point anyway.
Epic title game. Started off slow, but wow what a second half and 4th quarter.
And the SEC streak has finally been broken! Never thought we'd see the day

Maybe not, as each division is different in strength, but again, there should be some kind of reward for winning your division (other than making the playoffs).
