Actually, Bowie was a great influence on the music of Cuddly Toys.

Here's a Sanguine Hum EP I saw reviewed on the main page: As you can see, it's more or less identical to the Dead Kennedys' Frankenchrist:

Recently I picked up a copy of Shown Actual Size by I Am Spoonbender, and couldn't figure out why the cover looked so familiar. I was pretty sure I'd seen it on this site though. Looking over the back of the booklet I saw several references to Hipgnosis, so I went to a site with tons of Hipgnosis/Thorgerson artwork, and lo and behold, Ashra's Correlation: There was a "thank you" to Storm, so I guess they got permission to use the original? It also occurs to me that several artists have doctored existing sleeves to make them their own. The most obvious example is Meet the Residents!. But Liars defaced Einsturzende Neubauten's Strategies Against Architecture for their EP There's Always Room On the Broom: And Pavement's Watery, Domestic EP used Ambergris? by Ambergris as its canvas: I'm sure there's plenty of others.....
