For the pleasure of eyes...the frontman and singer of Mercyful fate (king Diamond) also have very innocent album covers:

However it is an interesting band for those who are in 80s heavy metal (Alice Cooper meets Iron Maiden with strange high screaming "female" vocals of Mr Diamond)

for me it's a joke but well...

ok then, if that's what you think about it...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Hi Jim;

I can go one better... Manowar were the first band I ever saw live; Bristol Colston Hall, October 1983, on their 'Hail To England' Tour.  The support band were meant to be 'Mercyful Fate', but they allegedly got lost on the way to the gig, which pissed my mate off know end, though luckily I was spared from 'Melissa'.  As it was, it was all loin cloths, and 'At the Bridge Of Death. Satan stands alone' kind of stuff... I'm very embarrassed about it now or course... but if you aren't taught any better as small boys...

JIM:

fandango: Too bad you didn't see Mercyful Fate. I find "Melissa" an amazing album!

Hi there, crafty canine, I've been having a wail of a time this afternoon, especially when I got to Joyce... I just couldn't stop crying, because I could just picture my mother on an album cover with her guitar... I guess you had to grow up with her to see the joke...... I still haven't fully recovered.

Apparently, this album contains a track 'Do It Roger'... somehow, I'm not at all surprised..

once again, this comes from an age where this cover would have been free of any sinister connotations...

I know you shouldn't mock the afflicted, but if they could see the finished product, they wouldn't have allowed it anywhere near the shops...

No, I'd be sure they kill innocent visitors and bury them in their backyard. Have seen lots of D-movies based on this theme.

Actually, do you think it's a female that on the front row?
And that noise... is that a power saw??
