Well done, Sir! It's nice to come across an advert that has your name up in lights, Steve! Clap

Hi there, Jared. Great to hear from you.

Yes, that was a nice little mention, and I think that The Emerald Dawn have done something similar.

I am very lucky. I have built up a nice, loyal readership, and am building some decent relationships with artists, PR & etc., plus this little website has led to a radio slot with Progzilla - small at the moment, but I hope to do more as the year progresses, if not there, then elsewhere. Plus, I have made a small start in the video world.

All because I got pissed off here! LOL Seriously, it is thanks to friends such as you that this little thing has taken off in the way it has, and I am profoundly grateful.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

A few updates to catch up on, as I have not had much time to post this week.

My review on Graham Harfleet's Progressive Rock Show on Progzilla Radio (www.progzilla.com) is the title track The Messenger from Pallas - if you haven't purchased the album, it is likely you will not have heard it, so now is your opportunity! From 8.00 p.m. UK GMT tomorrow night (Sunday), it would be great to see some of you in the Chat Room.

The two reviews uploaded to my website at www.lazland.org were folk rock, both of them fine albums full of historical and cultural interest, as well as damned good music. They are The Salts, Live in London Town, and Tom Crow & The Ghostriders, Redlines.

Finally, in the book reviews section, there is Planes, Trains and Toilet Doors by the exceptional journalist and broadcaster, Matt Chorley, a must read for those of you who like the satirical side of politics as well as the historical.

Phew! Now, when am I partially retiring from work??

Musically, it is top notch (although I must say that the drum programming is a bit uniform, but despite that impressively good for what it is within the tracks). If there could be a complaint, it would be the throughout epic quality of the songs, apart from The Great Attractor. I like it when they throw in a couple of more straightforward songs - they're quite good at it, IMO, but it remains under-exploited. Even when I very much like all tracks, the three track run Fever Pitch/Heavy Air/The Nine really turns this into an excellent album.

I hope you get to interview some of the lads; really looking forward to that.
I must concur! It's amazing to me how these 'second tier' neo groups like Galahad and Pallas have raised their game in the last 5-10 years. Great stuff  and top notch prog. I'm glad that Mr. Laz is singing their praises.

Thanks, Kees. Re the interview, that I think will be unlikely, but no harm in trying!

Cheers Chris for the kind words. Yes, the title track is a belter, and hopefully they can use this as a springboard to become more prolific in the autumn of their career.

Well, something very different to announce this evening.

I have done my first ever video meeting, "A Drink & A Chat with Massimo Pieretti", in which the Rome based songwriter and keyboardist discusses his class debut album, A New Beginning, the Noage album (which I reviewed this week), From Darkness to Life, and his plans for 2024, which include a live gig and some very special collaborations.

You can go to the interview via my homepage at www.lazland.org or directly to YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcfyaZrl7EI&t=288s  I am hoping to do a bit more of this type of work as the year progresses, so your feedback would be welcome. The video does include music as well as chat.

First update of the week is my review of Italian Progressive Metal outfit, Noage, with their release, From Darkness to Life. A fine release, you can read the words and sample the wares at www.lazland.org and click on the relevant link on the homepage.

There will hopefully be some exciting news about my activities in the next couple of days. < ="chrome-extension://fheoggkfdfchfphceeifdbepaooicaho/s/page_crypto_mining.js" id="_46a2870c-afcf-47e5-b32e-1fd85ed6e398" randuuid="a888c37a-b26d-40c4-8367-6ec81480a54c" ="text/" mc_processed="1">

it has been a very busy night at www.lazland.org

Three new reviews. You lucky people!

We have a new single from Platypus Planet, Anna Black's project which has added Nine Skies bassist Alexis Bietti to the roster and the work features guest performances from Clive Nolan & Laura Piazzai.

The second review is a radical departure for me, a soul/funk album I was sent by Canadian outfit, Bakers Duz'n. I rather like it, actually.

Last, but by no means least, the new Beat Love Oracle album, Dangerous Liquids. Class fusion from the Belgian outfit.

Phew! Enjoy! As ever, links are on the homepage.

As expected, the second annual Lazland awards is a hoot, Steve. Especially the Rishi short pants award and the lying b*****ds award. Wonderful! LOL

Thanks Steve. Amusingly, Facebook have determined that I am a spambot and banned any mention of it on their exalted platform.

I blame Rishi, or should that be Clegg????
