I've just had to shovel a foot of snow in my driveway 3 days away from spring. It wasn't enough 2 weeks ago that mother nature dumped so much snow they closed almost everything down... I hate winter!

My rant for the day (and the rest of this week) is concerning...COMIC RELIEF (aka RED NOSE DAY)Our televisiions get taken over by unfunny comedians, making unfunny jokes, all for charity. Then there's the "special" series of all ready appalling programs, such as Fame Academy. Why!It was fine before when it was just one day a year, but it seems it's entrails are lasting for a whole 2 weeks!I have the same issues with Children in Need also.Of course, I realise it's all for charity and for good causes, but is it completely necessary for everyone to make a complete t**t of themselves? You can raise money for such charities and keep everything in check. It should require one day in a year for people to give money to charity, they should do it all the time.Am I being too harsh? If I see Russell Brand on the television over this period, I may have to throw a brick at the television. That stupid Little Britian advert is not funny, neither is the Vicar of Dibley one, argh!*and breathe out and relax*Phew, I feel better now.

No, it's not just you. Comic Relief drives me up the wall! I've no problem with the cause, just the procession of back slapping, self congratulating comedians, cracking, as you say 'unfunny jokes' Friday night is my stay in night. The TV is often good on a Friday, but the drivel-e-thon that is Comic Relief, screws up my evening no end.
..and before anyone has a go at me for being mean about a charity event blah blah.. etc..I always make a contribution, usually through events that we are often emotionally blackmailed into taking part in at work.
..oh yes, of course, then there's the news reader making a cock of his or herself, doing something side splitting, that one would not normally expect someone like Bill Turnbull, John Snow or Natasha Kerplunky to be doing. Maybe they're going to shag a horse, with a big red nose on it, or perhaps sit in a bath full of worms, beans and cat sh*t, while we all phone in with our credit card details.
... ... and it usually means Grumpy Old Men wont be on.. |
It's today chaps - all take a deep breath & get those rants ready.
Personally, the first person in a large red wig & dressed as an artichoke to wave a bucket at me saying "it's for chaaaarrrrriiiittttyyyyyyy"... gets a kick in the face! |
Well, Jeremy Clarkeson has just managed to slip in a prog reference. He was saying how 'old' bands are better than all the 'rubbish' around now, and mentioned 'Selling England by the Pound' and 'Firth of Fifth'
No, I'm not watching it..it's just on in the background, while we're playing poker. Honest..
Too cold to sit around in the graveyard tonight anyway..

There are some side effects to this...
you'll feel sick when you take these
that's just your real self trying to get out
but don't worry that'll go away shortly

I fully agree, Josh. I was lucky at my school, we only had a few dope smokers.

I usually don't swear that much (though admittedly more than I should) , but this is the ing Ranting Room, so it's implied
|
I curse like an angry demon, but not in typing so this shouldn't be too bad for me
However, Josh was dead on in the vitrolic type anger, while Dan provided the intellectual type justification for it
The good news is that one cannot rent an apartment and buy dope on the paycheck from working the cash register at Target , let alone the hard stuff so things might level out in twenty years
and what about natural selection
Highway fatalities will go up to compensate for the people who take copious amounts of drugs and other forms of instant gratification
I am pissed off about the teachers in my school as they here the kids talking about getting 'blazed' in Spanish class and my teacher is like 'oh you guys...'
It's because she wants to be their friends and feels that turning them in would make her unpopular with the students
She wants to be friends with all of the kids because she wants to feel like she's in high school again, when she was the popular girl, and wants to stave off growing up and the change that goes with it
so go off to never never land and let the kids light up on the way there...
grrr

EVERYONE AT MY ING SCHOOL IS ON ING DRUGS!! About half my friends are throwing their lives away and doing them, and not even in moderation! I ing hate my town and how there's nothing to do here, I hate my ing generation and how they expect instant ing gratification every 5 ing seconds without any thought of consequences, I hate the "if it feels good, do it, and do it all the time without cease" ing mentality that's overtaken my peers across the entire ing nation, and I CANNOT ing wait to see all of them in their miserable ing burnt out lives on the side of the street as the ing new regime takes advantage of their hollow shells of their ing minds and beats them into ing submission!!!
