You're the best, Jim. If I didn't know your last name was Garten, I'd be sure it was Carey...

Oh bugger, no time -
I have a date with the cooker, some wholewheat pasta, olive oil, courgettes, field mushrooms, peppers, red onions, tomatoes (cherry and plum - not tinned!) & a dash of Econa pepper sauce... Roast the vegetables in a small amount of olive oil with plenty of sea salt & black pepper, mix with the cooked pasta, sprinkle over a small mount of chilli flakes & a dash of the pepper sauce & serve with salad - yum! F! 1 - this isn't the "prog chefs unite" thread 2 - I could have actually had a rant while I was drooling about food... 3 - Now I really have no time to rant, as I'm really hungry! F and indeed Bks! |

The moment they banned those shoes...their use SKYROCKETED. Big surprise....
Ah well, let the kids rolling through the mall have their fun....
What pisses me off, are those cart vendors. Especially around Holiday time. They are SO God damn agressive. One did everything short of kidnapping me to push their product.

^ Whoever invented 'Heelies' should be shot! Or at least put in the village stocks for an an hour! It seems they are mandatory for everyone under 10 in our town. You take your life in your hands in our shopping centre, it's like a ing roller Disco in the mall!!

The Ranting Room on page 6!?!
Intolerable! Here's a quick rant for you: Who's ing idea was it to invent trainers for kids with wheels in the heels? For 's sake, these are a ing menace to society, especially when their ing scutter parents take their now wheeled offspring to the ing supermarket with them. It was bad enough when breeding age scutter used to take their offspring to supermakets for the express purpose of hitting them & shouting random obscenities at them (this, in scutter circles is known as "communication"), but now, the bloody things are on wheels! Supermarket aisles can be labarynthine rabbit warrens at the best of times, but when you're in that special Zen state known as "the falafel were here last week, where the have they been moved to now?", and some semi obese wheeled specimen comes hurtling round the corner of World Goods & Cat Food at approximately 45 miles per hour, happily scattering old people in their wake, you do find yourself wondering why you left the Uzi at home again... Thank you. |

I've never been sure whether it is actually illegal to use cattle prods on small children - if it is, does the same law cover stun-guns and/or tazers? |

Why oh why oh why do some toddlers feel the need to run round in circles in public places shrieking loudly?? and more to the point why do their parents just sit back and laugh rather than calming them down? and even more to the point why is it illegal for me to kick the little f**kers until they shut up?

Just had a split-second power cut or brownout or whatever the f*** they're called . For some reason we get 'em regularly here. This is the 21st century for f***sake. I hate to think the damage this does to all the electronics . I feel like driving to the power station and seeing how many engineers I can ram through the turbine

I phrased some things incorrectly here. This wasn't an angry exchange, I don't think most of my friends were deliberately trying to irritate them (although I think a couple of them were, but not in an obvious scathing way), but rather they were just questioning what they were saying. It was a civil exchange, it's not like anyone was throwing insults at one another (I do have to respect those two people, they had a lot of patience). To be honest, I don't remember actually participating too much, just a few things here and there.
I just want to make it clear that it was a civil exchange, I think we just walked by them and some of friends wanted to listen to what they had to say. It just turned into a 45 minute exchange. |

You didn't offend me but it helps to keep the record straight . I don't really like arguments like that (people on the street handing out pamphlets it sometimes works but mostly get a negative reaction) - they usually go nowhere, I prefer arguments as friendly conversations between friends and still keeping it a good humored conversation (sort of like G.K. Chesterton or C.S. Lewis type stuff) |

I was trying to think a word other than worship, sorry. Revere I guess?
And yes you're right, sorry for describing them as obnoxious. I didn't think that through very well. I just don't like people trying to impose their own religious beliefs on me. I'm a Catholic, and I found their view of Christianity to be very, very narrow and strict. I apologize if I offended anyone, I didn't mean to. |

Hmm if I was a bit more zealous I would be that type of person up there saying that having Mary to worship is wrong (as I understand it she is the supposed mediator between man and Jesus but Jesus is the mediator between God and man and another mediator is not needed) Obnoxious? Pffft you were the one being obnoxius by going up to them and encouraging an argument about stuff. Ironic that you consider them to be obnoxious... |

Maybe I should start preaching the ways of the Jedi. Of course, I know nothing about Jedi, but I'm sure someone could teach me, or I could read up on it.
Or maybe I could invent a prog-rock related religion. Magmaism, for instance. |

Haha, funny story about annoying Christian preachers like that.... Well, not really funny, more like annoying.
My friends and I were in New Hope (for whatever reason), which is a place right across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, and we ran across people a couple people who were preaching their form of Christianity. And man, were these people serious about their beliefs. They believed that having saints was blasphemy because people would worship them or something, and the same went for Mary. I think they also said something to the effect that the Catholic Church was going to hell... or something like that. And them of course, the typical "evolution is false" thing that never fails to p*ss me off. And they even had PAMPHLETS about it!!! Anyway, my friends would try to say stuff to disprove their beliefs, and of course they had an answer to everything, even if it didn't make much sense. And this went on for 45 minutes. I just walked away after a while with one of my friends and I got in my van and drove over there to hurry up the rest of my friends. The point is, I'm amazed at these kinds of people. How can they get their point across when they're so obnoxious?! On a side note, that night this creepy guy walked past us and he stared at us as he walked by... really creepy.... |

Not just rude: but illegal.
He had chance of converting me, nobody does, so he didn't drive me away as such. As I said up there ^ I wonder what he would have said if I said I was a Satanist and had read everything by Aleister Crowley? |
