Guys, I'm still on to reviewing a lot of Aquarium, the artistry there is of intense value. The rest is rock under different ways of interpretation. Wink

I listened recently to Gourishnakar and...well, I think my review states what's great in it (variety, more than anything else) and what's not truly spectacular. Thumbs%20Up

I'm presently listening and downloading Disengage tracks from their site. I suggest that those who like this might want to check out the American band called Bolt, on 10T Records.

I loved Little Tragedies last release, so I look forward to this one.

Also, I just got The Gourishankar's "2nd Hands" and am loving it.

"Chinese Songs" part 1 from LITTLE TRAGEDIES!

Russian Symphonic Prog rock band LITTLE TRAGEDIES releases first part of their new album entitled "Chinese Songs". Lyrics of the album are based on a Chinese traditional and ancient poetry, while musical side is the same way beautiful and challenging. Previous efforts of the band were honoured by leading Prog resourses all over the world, so don't hesitate and grab your copy of "Chinese Songs" via MALS records right now!!!

PS: and don't forget to post a review on it!

LeInsomniac, feel free to check this thread (previous pages) for recommendations and links. Many Prog artists from Russia upload their albums for free, and you can get DISEN GAGE's debut via their home page, all KOSTAREV GROUP's releases through their web-site . The GOURISHANKAR has some tracks avlaible on http://myspace.com/thegourishankar , InFront is avalaible on MySpace too. All AUTOGRAPH's works are avalaible on their web-site; personally I recommend to begin with EP and early records, and later experience pre-AUTOGRAF legendary band VISOKOSNOE LETO with their songs. Good luck!!!

And folks, feel free to use this links too...AND WRITE REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about a "sound" but those are good bands and albums:

KOSTAREV GROUP - Live@InProg 2003 (available for download)

IN SPE - In Spe (Estonia)

You could also check out AQUARIUM and AUTOGRAPH but I'd ask people who are more well versed about these bands.

There's a whole bunch of prog from Eastern Europe, if you're interested. I've compiled a list of those (a lot are not in PA).

A few of these I don't know, but I agree wholeheartedly with The Gourishankar, Apple Pie, Little Tragedies, Horizont (though I only care for the track entitled Snowballs on Summer in Town) & Kostarev Group.

A favorite of mine, missing from the list is Lost World's "Awakening of the Elements", some excellent instrumental prog from Russia and I would like to add FROMUZ (from Uzbekistan, but they're Russian speakers playing instrumental prog/fusion http://fromuzband.com)

Some others:
Agarta (which leans more toward the jazz side of prog) and Azazelo (more of a metal tinged prog). 33 (Gruppa 33) has been reviewed by a number of prog sites, though I would say they're more prog tinged band, with a female vocalist with a beautiful voice. X Religion & the Badirov Projects' "Greetings from Nostradamus" is another worth checking out. http://myspace.com/badirov .

Google gives an answer ;) errrm... two answers.

[QUOTE=Prog-jester]Welcome on PA, buddy... please remind me if I know you. Are you from progmusic.ru/artrock.ru/neoprog.borda.ru/musicalbox.ru/???
If I were from one of these places you would have remembered me by nick, wouldn't you?

I've been trying to figure it out, since you guys started talking about it, but haven't yet.

I was trying to decide if the letters used were the Latin equivalents or what they resemble, like the 3 being cyrillic Z.
