Man I've tried to find some video to be able to hear it but nothing yet. All I find is "live" which means I get to see a torch... Unhappy

Haven't seen it. If it's classical music from Russia, I'll probably know what it is. If it's pop or rock, I probably won't. Tongue

The opening piece of music (with the vocals) is something I've heard before in prog music, but at the moment I can't seem to pinpoint the act nor the tune.
Can anyone enlighten me here?
Beautiful piece too.

I've never cared for the Olympics and less so for the winter ones. But the fact that they are held so close to Stalin's old resort and rest house make this ones more interesting. If only because I just read a gigantic book about him where the word Sochi was mentioned a million timesTongue

That should not be surprising since Uncle Joe was from that neck of the woods , in neighboring Georgia!  (He is still worshiped there, sadly!). The good thing about Olympics is that its the only 'peaceful' multi-national interface where there are no casualties , no collateral damage , no nukes , no bloodshed.  Its still a better alternative than war!
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Apparently, the Jamaican Bobsleigh team lost some of their gear on the way to Russia

A bit unfair Dean.

I see Google has a little dig at the Russian anti-gay stance.

Once again I suspect team GB will be celebrating its mediocrity.

I look forward to the news and radio stretching our 'success' beyond what it is.
