You say the same thing in every political thread: Obama isn't a liberal. Are you denying that? I don't want to have to search for all instances (not that I have the time to anyway) but I've read it from you over and over. I am actually curious as to what you think a liberal is. I must confess that, even though I think I started this thread, I haven't been keeping track of it but from what I've seen in other politicial threads you just seem to pop in with the occasional pot shot political cartoon or "not liberal enough" statement. I'd like to actually read something about your true ideology and why you think the way you do.
I'm not meaning to insult you but if you're thin skinned then it can't be helped.

Seriously Equality 7-2521 is that the best you can come up with? I occasionally drop by there by a link. That's an internet site, not print media that happens to have a web site.

Well at least I don't attempt to insult someone or merely contradict someone without backing it up with some evidence and make blanket accusations. You might be able to learn a few things from Ivan...

1. I'm pretty sure Slarti doesn't believe Che was liberal either. Not sure what it takes for you, really. You also repeatedly display this asinine belief, you have, that how left or right wing a President is ideologically is based on what they have been able to "accomplish". President does not equal Dictator, at least not yet.
2. When the hell has he done that? As a sidenote: the bi-partisan side of the health care vote was the Nay side.
I've never really been sure what world you are living in Slarti but it sure as hell isn't anywhere near reality. |

Oh, so the congress has to approve the govenrmental spendings? That sure seems to get in the way of everything, actually.

You mean the Trotskyite media.
Also I think promises would be more important than expectations since the politician explicitly states the former while being only partially able to influence the latter. Edited by Equality 7-2521 - September 08 2010 at 07:24 |

I think it's much more of a matter of not living up to expectations rather than promises. I voted for him and support him as president, however, when he was running I read about him in the real liberal media so my expectations weren't particularly high.

You could introduce a weight in an objective way. Their analysis is bias anyway. It's not like it's a clear cut decision if he kept a promise or not.

According to Coultergeist he's an atheist.
The problems I have with Obama are 1. Not being as liberal as he's been accused of being. 2. Trying to compromise with and reach consensus with a political opposition that has no interest in doing so. |

I used to agree, but honestly...its a cycle man. It moves on its own and the President really has little "impact" on it. That being said, that is the overall market. I do think Republican policies cause a lot of harm to the country. And this in from FB Barack Obama Michelle and I wish all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah a sweet year full of health and prosperity.SO! Not only is Obama a a muslim he's a Jew!? He just cant be the right religion? Edited by JJLehto - September 08 2010 at 01:43 |

Pretty much I was 100% sure he'd get a second term. Because lets face it, economy turns around he's in. If not... But I'm thinking more every day it will NOT be improved by November 2012, at least not much. Hope I'm wrong of course. Edited by JJLehto - September 07 2010 at 23:06 |

As I said in a different thread the see the President as the sole factor, or even the largest factor, which effects the economy is foolish. Especially when looking at the budget, we should look less at the President and more at the Congress where any budget reduction/raise must originate and obviously pass. The Republican Congress surely contributed to Clinton's surplus.

I actually consider his presidency do be much better than Bush's.
Serious question now people: why do Republicans seem to wreck the economy in recent years? I mean, look at what Regan and Bush (senior and junior) did to the economy. Clinton got an economy in great deficit and, at the end of his second term, had a quite big surplus. Obama is trying to fix the biggest economical mess since 1929 and has got some limited success.
