Yeah, I know. We're so horrible. Blah blah blah blah blah. Everyone can go back to talkin' POS. I allowed the continued US bashing to get the better of me and aided in the hijacking of the thread. I think for that I'll be whisked away from my wife and child and sent to a minimum security prison cell in West Islip, NY where I'll be forced to watch the DVD series of The Nanny looped continuously. Godless American government. NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO <<shakes fist towards the heavens>>>!!!!! E

Well thanks to Scarsick, not a Pain of Salvation topic goes by (mostly on other boards and Last.fm) without America bashing. Thanks a lot, Daniel!

LOL, thank God i'm not in USA.
That nazi warlord called George Dubya W Bush, the first dictator of USA, killer of civil rights (patriotic act, the reason PoS is not setting foot on US), starter of 2 needless wars, destroyer of the History of humanity (many archaeological sites were destroyed / sacked / robbed by american soldiers, Iraq population and robbers of all kind during the american invasion and occupation) and IDIOT don't let PoS play there because USA is living an exception regime. Basically its a military state, where population have no practical right and police can do whatever they want to you if they want.

Keep this image fresh in your mind, Chief. If we're wanting to keep tabs on those entering into this country, I think it's justified.

Get pretty sh*ttin' tired of the open season on America. Before casting stones, take a look at your own friggin' government and then get back to us. Otherwise, keep it out of the forum.

According to the teaching of THE Holy Catholic Church salvation involves self-giving (latu sensu), and that involves some suffering, because you would not be able to do the things you want when you want.

I dont like Bush, not many people do. I dont like the war, dont think we should have gone and think we need to get the hell out (but now were kinda stuck) but i really REALLY resent that. wait two needles wars? the Afghanistan war is legitimate, has the backing and support of the UN, and is a fight I support. The Iraq war is almost the complete opposite. wait i have no rights? thats news to me. Sure i dont like the patriot act and feel that it does encroach upon my constitutional rights but it does not take away any of my practical rights. i feel that my privacy is breached and thats something i am very upset about but i still have the right to assembly, the right to free speech, i have hundreds of practical rights. just because my privacy is threatened doesnt mean im living in a military state. I know many police officers, ive worked with some, go to church with some, they CANNOT do whatever they want. you need to seriously rethink your position, or where you get your information. i was offended by your comments.

I Don't meat to offend you, but that is what the patriotic act made to the USA. Why do you think it was passed by the American congress on late night? Because it suspends a lot of individual rights (the same rights that were fought to be achieved and putted on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights) and gives police powers beyond its legal action. It means that that police can more things that it should and give no explanation to anybody. Hell, USA did it here in South America many MANY times. They supported killer dictatorships in Brazil (300 deaths, 25 thousand political arrests, 10 thousand exiled ), Argentina (estimated more that 30000 deaths, half million exiled), Chile (5 thousand deaths, 65 thousand political arrests 40 thousand exiled), Paraguay (unknown number of deaths; researchers estimate missing people / deaths to be over 25 thousand), and some more to "protect democracy from communism"! Thats the same thing as having sex to protect virginity! Same thing is happening in USA. Bush IS killing civil rights to "protect democracy" and to fight "terrorism". Terrorism is a funny thing. The winning side tells what terrorism is and what is not. OK, i got to admit that the WTC thing was a terrorist act, but hell IRA helped to free most of Ireland with terrorism; the French resistance made terrorist acts against the Vichy government; we here in Brazil had terrorist against the dictatorship and now people involved in some of those terrorist acts are ruling the country now; George Washington attacked the english on Christmas eve for God sake and if that is not a terrorist act i don't know what is. About the Afghanistan war, well USA caused it in the 1st place, because in the 80's US army trained and armed the very people you are fighting now, just like you did with Saddam Hussein. In fact, this whole Iran / Iraq situation was fabricated by the USA during the Cold War, but many other complicated issues were and still are caused because of the USSR, so there is no saint here. But, to fight a situation caused by yourself, blame it on somebody else and still use ideals such as democracy and freedom as ideological cover to explicit military action against those that were your allies is just dirty. Its to treat people as objects. However, you can say "OK, but politics is all about lies, cheat and tricks", and you are right. Machiavelli wrote it, Augustus was a master on it and and Hitler was the nearest to Augustus political brilliance on the XX century. But, to hide it below a mantle of democracy and freedom, man i just cant swallow it, sorry.

This is the most incorrect post I've ever seen in my life, and I've seen plenty of the typical America-bashing crap on YouTube. Funny how people who don't live here think they know everything about it. ON-TOPIC POST: Pain of Salvation started the great prog-metal reform over in my library and really made me lose interest in Dream Theater and their associated projects.

I bought PoS Perfect Element I and the track that pulled me in was "ashes." Made me curious. I already knew they were very talented and really outclassed a lot of the progressive metal I was listening to at the time.
So I started reading up on them a bit and reviews. I decided to go ahead and bring in their whole catalog including the "Be" DVD. When it arrived of course I delved right into the BE DVD. :) Includes a 48 page booklet with it. Daniel has been working on "Be" since 1996 and after reading along with the booklet, watching them live and the appeal of the message I was hooked.
So, I'm enjoying all their albums even scarsick.
(I super glued 12:05 into my disc changer so no one can take it out hehe, j/k.. but it does rarely leave spot #5.)

speaking of BE, i find it quite funny that the best track on the album isnt written by Daniel, even though it was kind like Daniels own fully written masterpiece
inter impius is the ole' name, great great epic track

For me Entropia is among the best offering of this band. So among the best four.
I like their odd numbered albums more, than they even numbered apart from Remedy Lane.
So number seven studio album must be really great.
Also on the plus sideabout this band, that Daniel loves my country. And he certainly doesn't hate American people...
Post No. 2000 is rigthly placed in a Pain of Salvation topic.

^ I think that both Entropia and Concrete Lake are better than BE. But that's just me.

now, id defo consider myself a big enough POS fan, however, i think they're a bit hit and miss in terms of albums
for me, BE is they're pinnicle, i thought it was beautiful,
perfect element, also amazing album
remedy lane does defo have some good stuff and flows real well
12-5's great
then, i leap into the dodge'e side of they're releaces:
one hour by the concrete lake- i do enjoy tracks off here, others are just hit and miss for me, but id say its almost half half,
entropia - not that great at all, its prob got 4 good solid tracks, the rest aint great at all
then.....oh my....i go onto...o- onto....scarsick :(
possibly the most anticipated album in recent years for me, turned out to be the biggest dissapointment ever
i couldnt get over how sh*tty i thought it was, then a year passed and i kinda realised it wasnt SO bad, but still prettttttyyyy terrible on POS standards, especially comming after BE and supposidly being the perfect element part 2?
i think i even wrote a review on prog.arch about it, giving it 1 star
