Certainly not! Parts of The Wall are boring and The Final Cut is... the musical equivalent of a tranquilizer dart, but every thing else is interesting (excluding a song or two).

I von't vote here, as there is only yes / no choices. A big part of their career is boring in my opinion, but the smaller but interesting part of their early career is totally awesome and exiting.

Pink Floyd boring?...Oh please !!...Not even the garbage middle sections in Echoes and Atom are boring. Not even the almost soundless intros to their epics are boring. Not even most of their almost musicless songs in The wall are boring. Somehow, Floyd always managed to keep their music interesting. In my opinion, their music was always inspired (until most tracks in their latest two albums) and full of true feelings. No cheezy random noodling like some others whom some people may never call boring.
Want to listen to something really boring and uninspired, take the full Tales from topographic oceans, take anything from the Flower Kings calalogue and anything from Le orme. Now that's boring and ordinary. After giving this stuff several chances, I am never able to keep the attention. I lose focus as soon as I hear any guitar line from the Flower kings. I feel pitty for the random songwriting in "Tales" and I feel sick from listening to the ultra cheezy and artificial pseudo prog by Le Orme.
That my friends is boring. Pink Floyd, no matter how simple and quiet it may be, is always entertaining, keeps your attention and after a few listens it gets adictive.

As much as having an incredible sex life. As much as having fun. As much as being hugged. As much as reading Gary Larson comics. As much as "Sheep" fits into Michael Bolton's repertoire.

As a person who discovered Pink Floyd on my own without having heard
neither anything good nor anything bad about them, I believe that my
opinion on their music is not influenced by the opinions of others. I
personally think their music is pretty boring in general, although I do
like some of it very much. However, I think that many people love Pink
Floyd only because they've been exposed to excessive praising of the
band before listening to their music.
By saying this I'm not insinuating that my opinion is the correct one
and all of you who love their music are wrong. This is just a theory of
mine. I know it can be seen as controversial, but before you start
flaming me let me just say that I know people who have discovered Pink
Floyd the same way I have (with little or no influence from others) but
who love their music. I will not debate my opinion further in this
thread, as I already have done it once (look up my CttE vs The Yes
Album poll).

It's not boring, it's just kind of soothing. You don't have to concentrate very hard to understand it, unlike some prog which can be difficult to listen to and digest.

i started with pink floyd.. with dark side of the moon... all i can tell is that at first i found it boring too.. but then i loved firsts albumes featuring syd barret... then i liked more prog atom heart mother and ummagumma .. and believe me.. one i listened to dark side again... and i felt EVERYTHING... i was like "oh my god this album is overraaated" but then i heard time's solo of david gilmour was so f**king impressive ... the solos of gilmour are the more sentimental ones.. i think they really comes from his soul... now this is my favorite album
i think pink floyd is liked principally for gilmour's voice but the music is in second plane.. and not everyone understands ALL what floyd can give... once you understand it -believe me- you will not stop listening to it
