I live probably within 5 - 6 miles of where Emerson had his home in Santa Monica, Calif. and the feelings of sadness and helplessness are great at this moment. We just had the biggest deluge of the season yesterday, rain-wise, and it's almost poetic that this great progger's life ended either on or around the time of a cloudy, rain-swept day. Very English. Saw the Works 1 tour and then saw Emerson astride his Harley at Wilshire and Santa Monica one weekday afternoon around 10 years back. To think we'll never see him again...

I saw ELP on the BSS tour twice....it was remarkable music, played by remarkable musicians! I never quite understood the thrashing they seemed to draw on PA.
He was truly a lucky, talented man. RIP Keith!

2016 is literally becoming the year long equivalent of "The Day the Music Died."

RIP
Can't believe it was self inflicted, what an incredible player. If it really was physical issues keeping him from playing though, I can't imagine a worse fate for the man than that - I absolutely love Pictures and played it so many times, utterly tragic honestly.

I just read that possible cause of Keith's depression were hand related neurological problems which were making him unable to play. He loved making music so much that he prefered to die than to live without it.
