You think Murray will beat Roddick?

Oooh.

I think he will too.

I prefer that he's got Roddick.  I know Roddick's serve is annoying but I don't believe Roddick has the game to beat Murray... having said that, I didn't think he had the game to beat Hewitt either.

I don't think Roddick will cope under pressure as well as Hewitt would have.  Although again, he surprised me with his general wherewithal as well.

So it could be very interesting!

And why the sad face?  I thought you wanted Federer to win?

Oh, and let me revise my predictions, given yesterday's results.

Murray beats Roddick 3-2
Federer beats Hass 3-0

Federer beats Murray 3-0 :(

Interesting.

Some say this is their best album in years, some say it's horrid.

I will never know either way, as I won't be hearing it.

So, I have heard from a few DT friends of mine Black Clouds and Silver Linings was bad.

I had to try it anyway, being a big fan, and did a risky thing for me....buy a CD without ANY knowledge of what the music is like.

I am disappointed.... Cry

Saw that already. I have too much of a fear of heights to want to do that. Embarrassed

This is pretty cool too: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/5231886/13809703

And your response to it is very well acceptable, since I agree with them, those are:
- James is on the sky with his vocals
- Mike's drumming is very much based on double-bass, very ala Power Metal

I can't denie those facts, and I must admit those 2 things were what made it difficult for me to get into I&W, but once I surpassed that, the music just flew greatly.

For me James best moment was in FII, delivering some beautiful stuff to some really energetic stuff, which both are done majestically IMO.
There's a factor that for me is crucial that is why I also prefer their 90's stuff to 00's, that is John's bass being really present and standing-out.

No offense taken at all.

I agree with you mostly.  Compositionally, Images and Words isn't bad, and Petrucci does a good job most of the time, but I find much of the music trite and, in one case, plagiarized.

I prefer Rudess-era by far, with only Train of Thought being a total disaster (Portnoy is double bass all the way through, and Petrucci doesn't play anything more than thirty-second notes).

^hey Robert, what do you think of Falling Into Infinity?

I've always liked Falling Into Infinity.  "Hollow Years" was one of the first songs I ever heard by Dream Theater, and it's in my top 10.  Were I to review it today, it would get a solid four stars.

EDIT: I don't get the hatred toward it.  I think it's an excellent piece of work, and far superior to Images and Words.

We seemed to agree on everything until you named I&W, which is a album you pretty much don't understand why it's loved. Wink

I find both really excellent albums, and for all the bashing to FII, gave it 5 stars to annoy DT fanboys!Tongue No, seriously, I find it really, really good with New Millenium, Peruvian Skies, Trial of Tears, Lines in the Sand, Hell's Kitchen as definitive standouts, then you got Hollow Years, Anna Lee and Just Let Me Breathe which are fantastic as well.
I love Derek's subtle jazzy touches.

No, I don't understand why Images and Words is loved.  But even if I did, it wouldn't matter.  I think it's lackluster, along with ELP's debut.  I find many other Dream Theater albums far more appealing.

Train of Thoughts is not one of them.  Dead

Okay, so while I am indeed tired, I merely posted that to test a way I came up with to make pasting from a Word document without it looking retarded.

Mission Accomplished! Thumbs Up
