The people I work with all like girly-man coffee, meaning that flavored stuff (French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Rose Petal - I'm making this one up, Butterscotch Cookie - no I'm not making that one up, etc.) They probably drink Zima and fruit-flavored beer too. To answer your question, Jim, I think of regular coffee as just that, the unflavored, unlatted, uncapuccinoed stuff.

Straight up black and strong. Nothing added. Does that mean "regular?"

Espresso, better double. And a cigarette. Brandy is a good bonus.

I love coffee - black and strong with brown sugar. Coffee does not love me.
When I was young coffee used to give me migraines, I never worked this out at the time because the correlation between drinking coffee and nausea and blurred vision followed by the red-mist-white-hot-knitting-needles-stabbing-in-the-eye-sockets-and-bed-pillows-made-from-spikes-piercing-into-my-brain-oh-god-oh-god-make-it-stop pain several hours later wasn't that obvious; I guess subconsciously I knew this because I stopped drinking coffee completely when I was 8 or 9 and the migraines went away but still I never made the connection. I started drinking coffee again when I was at University because it was convenient and that's what everyone else in the halls of residence was drinking - needless to say the migraines returned and I was still too stupid to make the connection and was foolishly drinking coffee as a restorative for the blinding-headaches that would always follow a migraine attack, as you would with a bad hangover - it was only later I discovered that drinking water in vast quantities was the only respite from migraine and that also reduced the post-migraine headaches by a considerable degree. Anyway, to cut a long story short, many years later in conversation with a fellow migraine sufferer she mentioned that chocolate could trigger her migraines - as a chocolate lover myself this was horrifying news so set about trying to see whether that was the cause - luckily it wasn't, unfortunately it was coffee, more specifically (because I refused to give up coffee completely) I found that instant coffee was an instant trigger but fresh brew was okay in moderation. I can still get the occasional unpleasant headaches from one cup of espresso but thankfully not a migraine.

Regular coffee, black and strong.
I will drink a latte, espresso, or Cuban when it's available, those are great too. But on a day-to-day basis, I like it simple.

Believe me I searched but couldn't find another poll. Maybe I fail at searching topics. What's your preference for coffee?
I love cuban coffee, basically espresso with sugar. A touch of cinnammon sometimes helps. You? |
I got into Cuban coffee last summer when I visited Key West. But most of the time, just black coffee. Sometimes a little sugar substitute if it's too bitter.
