Did you guys hear the new album by This Will Destroy You? It's the best post-rock album I've heard in the last years.

The new Long Distance Calling is pretty good also, I don't know whether I enjoy John Bush's vocals on 'Middleville' through.

^^ i heard new Jesu, it's fine album, but nothing more, it gets boring after few listens.
I like the new Maybeshewill, very interesting, i cannot say they brought something new, fresh ideas, but anyway , worth hearing
new  And So I Watch You From Afar is kinda awful

Who else has heard the new Jesu? Thoughts?

Personally it picked up towards the second half, the first seemed a bit 'stale'.

well, some bands that i listen almost everyday

GYBE
Pertegó
Explosions in the sky
Evpatoria report
A silver mount zion
Tortoise
God is an astronaut
Maybeshewill

The last work of Explosions in the sky is mmmmm well....more or less interesting, you know...is happy for moments, in fact is more dynamic than Earth is not a cold dead place, but without this feeling of melancholy and the epic passages

Their "Place" album is very good and I highly recommend giving them a listen.

Indeed, Cale:drew is very good too, although more minimalist and free-form.

I discovered Jakob back in November, and they're excellent, especially their album Solace.  Probably my favorite discovery in a while.

I've been listening to a lot of post-rock/metal lately, especially these albums:

Callisto - Noir
Neurosis - The Eye of Every Storm
Crippled Black Phoenix - I, Vigilante

Check out  Invert.I have their 3rd album The Strange Parade and it is extremely good so they are definitely worth looking into if you like strings.

I just added En Plein Air's first full length album to their page here and I strongly urge you guys to check them out.Their 4 song debut ep was superb. They mix post rock and classical with some jazz influences and violin and cello are prominent in their music.Highly recommended!

glad to know TUNA LAGUNA are still kicking
From recent genre's releases I liked I'd note JENIFEREVER, GRAILS, LONG DISTANCE CALLING and HERETOIR - Post-Black, but Post anyway

I like the new EITS, nothing new indeed, "for fans only" but I'm a fan Tongue

I didn't know, but Tuna Laguna have a new album ready, and they released a single here: http://tunalaguna.bandcamp.com/track/funtitled

Sounds like they're stepping further away into nu-jazz territory, close to Jaga Jazzist for example. I'll love this album if it's like that!

Also, the new Ulver is very good. The best album from our "turf" in 2011, so far.

new Explosions In The Sky is kinda boring, i am getting that feeling that they are using the same formula , same concepts over and over again, no fresh ideas, not an exceptional release at all
