Sister Wackenhut - to be thrashed about the hands is not punishment enough for my sins; I humbly present my posterior for your justified flagellation.

Childish cads. You should be flogged forthwith for your attempts at verbal jousting. Enough, I said, Enough. Bow thy heads and offer up thy hands for Sister Wackenhut's ruler. Sniveling is not allowed, Garten. Kneel.

Hammar - surely you mean "compliment"; remember, this is a thread for those of us who eschew humour & poor spelling (Dude is excused spelling for being Australian). As such, we would respectfully ask that you use a form of spell-check before submitting entries to this most revered of threads.

Thank you.

I have been offended before the court! As the information was basically wrong I don't want anyone to compliment it! You can sentence me to death for my vocabulary, but Mr. Garten, as Sy Borg, you should check your FZ knowledge first.

Complement meaning add to the information. She messed my mind up, Lucille, but I still love her.

AS A SERIUS PROG LISTENER I HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING THE SONG RAEDY EDDY BY ELP.THIS SONG IS ABOUT EDDYS CONCLUSION THAT LIFE IS ESSENTIALLY POINTLESS AND WITH THAT RAELIZATION HIS SOUL IS MADE FREE.THE TERM" READY TO ROCK AND ROLL" IS OBVIOUSLY A EUPHEMISM FOR THE TURBULENCE INHERENT IN THE HUMAN CONDITION AND THE ASSOCIATED FOIBLES OF HUMAN NATURE AND WITH THIS RAELIZATON EDDY IS RAEDY TO TAKE THE EXISTENTIALIST ROLE(MUCH LIKE CLINT EASTWOOD IN "DIRTY HARRY")THAT AN UNCARING "FATE"(PARADOXICALY) HAS PROFERED HIM.ELP HAS OBVIOUSLY USED HUMOR TO HIGHLIGHT EDDYS SMALL POSITION IN THE HIERACHY OF THE CONCIUS WORLD OND YET ALSO TO HIGHLIGHT HIS SMALL TRIUMPH.EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER ARE TO BE COMMENDED FOR THIS THOUGHTFUL AND POWERFUL SONG ON THE ENIGMA OF EXISTANCE

I AWAIT THE COMMENTS OF OTHER SERIUS PROG LISTENERS

STOP LAUGHING AT THE BACK THERE, DUDE

How many times do I have to repeat, this is a SERIOUS thread; we are trying to establish a thoughtful, insightful, and above all, intelligent line of debate here. Indeed, you will note that I did not rise to the potential double entendre of the above entry "attack from down under".

Peter - as Headmaster, I must call on you to discipline these rogue elements.

"in the silence of my shame, the mute that sang the siren song, has gone solo in the game, but the game is over"

Such melancholy lines from Mr Dick circa 1983 - the soundtrack to my ultimately futile life.

Whilst mulling over the bleakness of existence, and acknowledging the utter futility of the pursuit of happiness in any of its fey disguises, one cannot but ponder on those words of wisdom, written so many years ago by the late, lamented, Frank Zappa:

"I'm gonna ram it, ram it, ram it, ram it up yer poop chute (core in the hole!!)"

Sage words, Mr Zappa...... Sage words

or, given the context, should that be sage & onion?

^ Ah, yes. Alcohol and its fleeting, illusory "happiness."

Yet the next morning, the opressive clouds of bleak despair return -- blacker than ever.

You have the right to remain silent.

· If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say may be used against you in court.

· You have the right to speak with an attorney prior to questioning, and have that attorney present during any interview.

· If you wish to speak with an attorney but cannot afford one, one will be appointed for you free of charge.

Actually, Master Rideout, I prefer to think of myself as the well-tanned harbinger of ouch.

Your attempts at levity are quite misplaced here, Mr. Crow.

Please do not attempt to make me smile -- it interferes with my nihilistic cogitations.

That's better, Carrion-Crow (the coal-black harbinger of death).

It has been brought to our attention that we have erstwhile been too free with our juvenile and futile "whimsy." This must, perforce, cease.
