The Wheel of Time Turns, and Ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the shadow.
Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time... |

here are some lyrics I am very fond of, well... anything by Peter Hamill i'm fond of...
From 'Childlike Faith in Childhood's End', the best song off of their best album (not their best track, but pretty dang close) "All the jokers and gaolers, all the junkies and slavers too, all the throng who have danced a merry tune - Human we can all be, but Humanity we must rise above, in the name of all faith and hope and love. There's a time for all pilgrims, and there's a time for the fakers too, there's a time when we all will stand alone and nude, naked to the galaxies - naked, but clothed in the overview... as we reach Childhood's End we must start anew. And though dark is the highway, and the peak's distance breaks my heart, for I never shall see it, still I play my part, believing that what waits for us is the cosmos compared to the dust of the past... In the death of mere humans life shall start!" Some of my favorite lyrics ever written, that and Pink Floyd's 'Time'

Not sure if these will be readable or not, but they are from an English assignment back in high school, 1976-77 |

here's the opening to a song I wrote called 'Child's Play" and some other favorite lines. Overall it might need some editing, and a bit of re-writing, but i'm happy with where most of it sits
Deep throated vocals of a time long past Far above the melee and moral bombast Ritualistic mornings crafted of gold Who is our God whom you have extolled? Though our truths will seldom align The Child remains to play I have yours and you have mine Time to sunshine the fears away, I hold your hand while we dine. Some night other lines: "Scared to peak at the bodies I know, You’re scared you’ll see a face that’s your own" "Back in the morning, there was a border for us apart, A boundary for lack of order, Where we all must look forward to start!" "To sit out on the playground and watch, While the wise girls down whiskey and scotch" |

American Boots
American boots on Syrian soil, kindle the cauldron to bubble and boil Isis rises from the sand, melting into crowds, they plot to foil American boots on Syrian soil, blending in yet unfound Isis mix with folks in town surrounded by American soldiers all around, Syrian cobra suicide strike, “Yikes, that’s thrice this week. At the pub last night Joe got blown up with a girl in curls when the shoeshine boy blew the pub plumb down.” American boots on Syrian soil board American boats bound for American ground Love-starved wives weep for lovers, cry with mothers as they bury brothers and sons in cemetery soil. Tank snakes shoot venom, uncoil, and spoil Middle East peace, “At least there’s war in Syria again”, Said the four-star general to the congressman. -Cindy O

In Honour of This Day Lyric (work in progress) For This Land © JD Dinsdale 2023 We got the call at 0500 The planes were fueling up Our gear was stowed And clips were tapped Only prayer could interrupt To take our place Among the brave Surrounded by the sand A paper face to warm the heart Love's anchor in our hand We all march together Good soldiers row on row Back to flag and family By way of Oramacto We all march together For a country strong and free We all march together Into eternity

Actually, I find it very impressive, and I meant comments about this poem.
