That's not the way it works.  The only way the case goes to Supreme Court is if the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling is reversed. As long as the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals vaccine mandate decision is not reversed... it stands as the law of the land.

Yes, I think that is what can be construed as "ironic".

Moving in the right direction...  Next thing that needs to happen is to put Fauci behind bars!

Like the early years of the ICE cars, it's all about how far can I go on one fill, where do I get it and how long do I have to wait before I'm topped up. Imagine if filling your tank of gas took 25-30 minutes to be full. How small the tanks were then vs now is the new battery capacity/storage challenge.

So, the infrastructure bill was signed. Yay. So, I think there's a lot of good things in there. I especially like funding for charging station infrastructure, electrical grid improvements, replacing lead pipes, and broadband upgrade. This kind of bill was long overdue.

Charging stations will be a huge push for electric cars.  That’s my main reason for not owning one, the infrastructure just isn’t there.  Ford just announced a liquid cooled charging cable that will provide full charge in 5 minutes.  Unlikely, but I hope it doesn’t take too long and not a lot of the budget money is wasted.

We should have already been green energy independent.  Technologies such as solar, wind, hydro and geothermal have been around for a while now.  Time to kick Fossil fuels to the curb.

I'm in the same boat regarding electric cars. Just waiting for the infrastructure to be in place before I'll commit to one. I saw that news story about Ford and Purdue's charging cable. I imagined I'd just use an EV locally and charge it at home overnight, but that invention (if it makes it to the public) could be a game-changer.

I agree. We should have been green energy independent a long time ago.

Independent voters blow with the prevailing wind. What will drive Democrats away from the party is the increased power of the progressives. Conservative Democrats will bail, especially after the sh*t show of getting Biden's agenda passed.

An interesting, analytical and worrying (long) read in The Guardian today about GOP's ongoing anti-democratic coup efforts. I'm actually surprised that this is possible at all in a country that considers itself a democracy. Shouldn't all this be unconstitutional (but then, what to expect from a country where judicial powers are not separated from the executive powers)? A quote:

Originally posted by Ed Pilkington in The Guardian Ed Pilkington in The Guardian wrote:

The nonpartisan group Protect Democracy and its partner organisation States United Democracy Center have recorded 216 bills introduced this year in 41 states that politicize, criminalize or interfere with election administration. Many of the bills seek to increase the power of Republican-controlled state legislatures over the election process, stripping powers from impartial election officials and handing them to radically partisan lawmakers.

The largest concentration of bills fall in exactly those states that were most closely contested in 2020 and where the outcome of the 2024 presidential election is likely to be decided – Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and the increasingly competitive state of Texas.

“We know that some of these bills have been part of a coordinated effort,” Jessica Marsden, a lawyer with Protect Democracy, said. “We see similar measures pop up in a number of different states, so there is significant evidence that there is at least the beginnings of some sort of plan.”

So I guess Big Bird is running against Ted Cruz. Cookie Monster is his campaign manager, Elmo is his senior advisor and Bert is communications director.

Too bad it isn't real. He'd do a better job and wouldn't run away to Cancun when things got bad.

There are 2 ways to stop our current world lunacy.  Through the court systems, of which there are many cases pending not just in the United States but all over the world.  This is somewhat of a slow process and will take some time.

The other way to end the insanity is through mass non-compliance.

Apparently the infrastructure bill finally passed in the House. Now the centrists are agreeing to vote on the domestic programs bill later in November after the CBO sees if its costs line-up with what the WH estimates.

In other news, the CBO back in February said it would take until the end of 2023 to reach 4.6% unemployment. We already reached that number in October.
