^You are obviously taking a stand, and that´s what it´s all about. Get people talking about the categorisation of tomatoes! I would probably choose the first Faust record as background music to go with such a discussion, and then maybe start moving into some Tangerine Dream Zeit to round things up in a healthy way - trying to hit that veggie feel in sounds.
I´m all about health these days, as you can probably tell. Dancing and talking about foods with actual vitamins. Maybe it´s something to do with me hearing Vitamin C by Can? I heard that last week...

I only have La Dusseldorf's debut and i noticed i ended the review with "It's all about the beat man". So there you go.I need to give that a listen it's been a while.Tomato = vegetable. Hey John - I totally missed your President anecdote I take that as a major compliment btw - The Syd part, not the politics side of things.. I can´t imagine being president, and I think perhaps the military advisers and generals would grow tired of me in a jiffy...I haven´t heard that Mazda album, but anything with Mazda in the title needs to be heard - no doubt about it. I´m listening to LA Düsseldorf VIVA. Quite to the contrary of what many people might think - there is actually a lot of Krautrock that you can dance to. I´m making my own weird rhumba right about now - with some moves that would make Shakira look like a drab water buffalo. Dancing is healthy!

An album that might interest Krautrock fans is AHORA MAZDA's self titled release from 1970 i believe. I mentioned that it reminded me of a lot of Krautrock in my review and i'm not the only reviewer here to mention that. The Krautrock spirit is alive in this "out there" psyche album.

Well there are a couple of live GURU GURU albums out there that interest me but i've never pulled the trigger on.The appeal for me with this one over the others is two fold.The sound quality obviously will be excellent but the fact it's early in their careers is the other.It's either just before or after they released their second album "Hinten" in 1971.Release date is September 27th for this one the same day Steven Wilson's solo comes out.

I just noticed on Cd Universe that GURU GURU is releasing a posthumous live album from 1971 recorded at radio Bremon.Three long tracks here,one from UFO and the other two from Hinten.This should sound good since it will have been professionally recorded by the radio station.

Speaking of the ocean - this is like facing the beach head on. The way they´ve manage to play TOGETHER with the seas just blows my mind completely... Can you imagine jamming with waves - ahhh yeah that´s the sound of Neptune! There´s a certain connection to nature in this, that lies deep within the few of us who appreciate this kind of music. Okay I´ll go for Something Dirty. Might as well - it´s probably also going to be easier to hunt down being a 2011 release and all.
I listened to Prosper´s Broken Door again today and it´s a real beauty! I love the way these guys roll - with the guitar work flowing from Guru Guru to soothing chillouts like you´d hear on a Popol Vuh album. This track is fantastic, but focusing more on the Fender rhodes(maybe) and some mellow string work. Again, I cannot stress how much I love sounds of the ocean in Krautrock, and this is one of those : |

Something Dirty is in my top 5 albums of the year atm, and should barring a massive surge of fantastic albums in the latter half of the year should at least make my 10 at years end.
While I don't think CC...C...C is as good as the others around it (I still like it a fair deal), I agree that later day Faust in general is quite excellent and just as good as the early albums. Faust Is Last is particular awesome for me. One of the most consistant bands I know this Faust.
