First post, and it's all about the first prog moment..... sighs.....
Tubular bells back in the mid 90's I guess. Man I wish I could start the prog adventure all over again.
Peace

Well that must have been Camel's Rain Dances which I bought in a used records store 2 years ago...I went back there many times ever since... Today I bought Rush and U.K. in that same store! Absolutely love these classic prog bands...perhaps regressive rock would be a better term right? well, it's still progressive amongst most of nowadays mainstream artists though...Cool

It was A Passion Play in 2007 I think. Before that, I only listened to the Beatles. This was the first I listened to but the first I bought was Songs from the Wood in the same year.

First album I bought was KC's Discipline.

First albums I heard included: Discipline, FZ's One Size Fits All, UK's UK, Brand X's Morrocan Roll, Spock's Beard's Kindness Of Strangers, Gentle Giant's Interview, The Muffin's Open City, KC's The ConstuKction Of Light, and a Happy The Man collection.

Scenes from a Memory. I was 18.5 years old and it was in march 2009. I heard it twice, didn't like most of it, and then I heard other DT's albums and also Pink Floyd. Few months later I got back to it and understood how fool I was.

I had War of the Worlds too, being an avid Sci-Fi reader at an early age.   I think that this was my first truly Prog album.

I'm a sci/fi fan too, so it certainly checked all the right boxes for me. I used to listen to it in bed late at night with the lights out, on an oversized pair of headphones...ah those were the days, if only I had the time now for such things.Cry

1989 - Dream Theater -- When Dream and Day Unite, was 17 at that time, Thanks to my  late grandmother who posted the cassette all the way from Germany to Namibia, after I read a review of the album in a magazine and asked her to purchase the album for me, as such music was not available in Namibia at that time.  Still my favourite Dream Theater album and one of my all time favourte prog albums.

My brothers first was probably Dark Side of the Moon, but the first album from progarchives he found was either Selling England by the Pound or Fairyport by Wigwam. Before that time we just thought Genesis was some stupid 80's Band! Well we were wrong! Smile
