I should I have said last three. When I said last four I was including the Roine Stolt presents the Flower King album which technically is a solo album like his 1994 album. Desolation Rose is the last one I bought but I didn't care for it too much to be honest. I still have it though so maybe I'll try again. Maybe it will grow on me.

By Royal Decree is pretty darn fooking good! But I'd have to agree for me Desolation Rose is the winner of the last 4 rekkids. |

^ Last four albums? What do you mean?
If you mean: Desolation Rose, 2013 Waiting for Miracles, 2019 Islands, 2020 By Royal Decree, 2022 the clear winner is Desolation Rose (for me, at least) ! The other ones have some highlights, though. I even made a "best-of" from the 2019-2022 albums (duration of 78:46).

Unfortunately, I haven't heard the last four TFK albums. Which ones are the best?
Rainmaker is very good. The first two or three tracks are great but then it loses steam a bit. It picks up a little bit towards the end though. Space Revolver has very few weak moments and is one of my personal favorites. Edited by AFlowerKingCrimson - August 23 2022 at 15:26 |

^ Same here. Space Revolver is my #1 TFK album. I mean it's excellent from start to finish. Other TFK albums have stronger tracks, but none has this perfect flow.
On the other hand, The Rainmaker is just "very good", not "excellent".

My passion for getting all the LP releases that Roine is doing continues.....Flower Power arrived today in a wonderful 3-LP/2CD set with some remix versions that Roine is doing. The packaging is great includes a lyric booklet as usual.
Sounds awesome as well!! |

482 pages of love here...... It wanes once in awhile and right now there is a lull, there is not an overwhelming love of the past couple albums. It's been hit or miss for many.

It warms my heart to see such love for Flower Kings. I've been in prog communities in the past which have denigrated them and undermined them. These same communities would lionise Tool and Porcupine Tree and, mama, that is not the tea.
I haven't listened to them regularly for some time. I should jump back in. Love, DreamTechPlus.

Arrived yesterday from Laser's Edge. Great packaging as normal with these reissued TFK record albums, both never have been released on LP till now.
The added 2022 notes by Roine are a great read.......Hoping more of these come out soon! This yellow variant is limited to only 500 pressings. |

I guess for me there is a lot of the catalog that includes plenty 25 min epics. It's nice to have a bit of a change with these shorter songs

I have no problem with the double album format. My problem is the lack of epics! Still, I do like the new album, but I don't love it. I still prefer Islands to this one, honestly. I do need more listens though, as I've only played it through 3 or 4 times. Overall though, I'm not disappointed. Bring on the 4 CD long song!
