Well, the year's almost over and I'm trying hard not to discover more new stuff so here's what I found so far:
Big Big Train
Garbarek, Anja
Flood
Gorishankar, The
Rhodes, Happy

Just five.  Picking out a biggest will be hard.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I was most impressed by 'The Future Kings of England.' I really like what sounds they make. My ears are comforted.

Negura Bunget! (http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2926)

Never heard of these Romanian Blackmetallists before, but they blew me away at Hellfest this year. Amazing stuff. And very glad to see them included at the Archives. Thumbs Up

Listening now...pretty cool, so far!

They are an awesome live band, i've seen them 4 times in the last two months and i'm going again next week. Each concert the crowd gets bigger and more enthusiastic, and i heard they're moving to LA next year to try some luck, i wish them the best.

The Swedish sextet Angles are by far my biggest discovery of the year. Though that's Jazz.

As for Prog, I'd have to go with Cosa Brava or the Book of Knots, two excellent bands.
