You know that KC is better, which is a good start. So you're on a good path

At least PF didn't become Philesis after Waters left.

Except with live material, and potentially Lizard!

Hmmmm.... a band with a few good albums, maybe two of which really meant much to me, or a band that has forty years of good music.......

KC has done some excellent work but for me, PF is the top of the mountain.

back in the 1970s it would have been Pink Floyd, but King Crimson continued to make excellent music in the 80s, 90s and into the 3rd millennium, whereas Pink Floyd's output since the 70s has rarely been more than adequate. KC gets my vote.

i like bouth bands, bouth are important to rock in different angels, bouth changed the face of rock, stage preformence, production, structure.
King Crimson scared the hell out off peapol, when they first playd schizoid man the first time (Bruford have told so), and inspired a bunc of bands to do the same
few have ventured in the area or level of scene/stage preformance in vicual form as Pink Floyd, light show, airplains, flying pigs and huge walls. some bands used theatrics and stuff from theater on stage (Alice Cooper, Roxy Music, Rush, Elton John and Genesis) but not ass expencive or massive as Floyd (have i heard thru documentaries on TV).
after watching the light show in P.U.L.S.E and the wall concer DVDs you get a bit spoild and evrything after that seems childish, funny ore silly.
i like bouth bands but i think the history of Pink Floyd is more inspiering and that 4-5 architect / art / ingeniour students went to concur the world and produce two 20 x platinum, one 7x platinum and two 4 x platium records.

Rack another vote up for Floyd, King Crimson does little for me

pick your favorite out of these :
- King Crimson
- Anekdoten
- Léger de Main
- Van der Graaf Generator
or
pick your favorite out of these :
- Pink Floyd

King Crimson, they have always done it for me, I think I actually like every one of their albums, they changed it up so much and still managed to make compelling music... it's hard to top them in my book.
Floyd has a great sound but aren't nearly as interesting... I can see how they appeal to a wider audience though... outside of PA, that is. :P
