I'm from ECUADOR! We have the beautiful Galapagos Islands, amazing beautiful country with all climates in just a little extension of terrain. Country with the highest potential for tourism in the world...
Sadly, look I said "potential". Besides what I just said, Ecuador has probably the most stupid people in the world... 10 presidents in 10 years .... do the math... And right now we're on the verge of approving a Constitution which will make our president into Chavez II, without the oil money of course.

Unfortunately I`m Canadian. Born, raised and educated in this dump. My father was a Yorkshireman and my mother was from Glasgow, Scotland. I wish they would have stayed there and so did they. I was born in Montréal, Québec and still live here, speak both official languages. I`m not going to go on about this sinking ship except to say that our pathetic flag looks like it was created by a kindergarden student. A leaf. I also try not to let on that I`m Canadian when travelling abroad. Nothing to be proud of unfortunately. Can`t wait for the Americans to take over.

^ History is just that, history. Nothing to be proud or ashamed of (unless one is personally responsible for it), but sometimes fun to read about. And yeah, that's a great point about having pride in oneself rather than one's nationality, history or whatever. A point many people are still to get. On another forum I frequent there's a bunch of people from two mutually unfriendly countries who share a pride in the greatness of a certain general who conquered half the civilised world some 2300 years ago. I hope they can still form an orderly phalanx

I am German and also a bit proud of its younger history.. from 1950 on.. how they managed to built up a strong economy and peaceful country after two terrible wars and how we managed to show we left this behind. Although our politicians tell us how bad it was to show any patriotism, it is spreading again. But not with me.. to be perfectly honest, patriotism is something I dislike very much.. just can not understand how people can be proud of where they come from rather than who they are. I am not so extrem that the only connection I feel with my country is the natural caused by gravity, yet I really have other things to be proud of.. Maybe it is because of my country's history, but that truly is another topic.

I'm from England myself. I love the country and it don't feel right anywhere else, but i have one "complaint". What the hell happened to us??? We used to be one of, if not THE, most powerful country in the world. Now we are reduced to a little island of chavs, unraged OAPs and a very unstable government! Oh, and Gordon Brown, he doesn't help either. So what happened? Did we suddenly get too nice?
It is also worth saying that i'm of Polish origin, and very proud of it as well! Although we've had our fair share of beatings in the past 200 years, we've stuck out and remained a respectable nation. And we have Riverside

The beatings continue, self-administered Food's good here, so is the weather (though it's getting more and more erratic lately, like about anywhere), and the girls are cute. On the other hand there's lots of hopelessly dumb and/or arrogant people here (many of whom are in positions of power and responsibility), bureaucracy and corruption is rampant (though things are improving slowly), loads of areas are still very poor, we have no football team, and the chief religious propaganda radio has equipment strong enough to disrupt the German Air Force communication channels (I'm not kidding here - it's really powerful, I guess it goes into deep space and scares off the aliens).

Australian, father being of English/Anglo Saxon descent, and mother being half Spanish/half Filipino. Our national anthem is atrocious, the government is not left wing enough for my liking, we are pretty much just a miniature version of the USA now culturally, the Australian accent in most major cities has become watered down and is becoming slightly more American sounding over time (but that's a good thing IMO, since the strong Australian accent is irritating ), the Aborigines have an atrocious standard of living, some Sudanese dudes recently got beaten up in Melbourne for being black (ohh yay, that FAIR, UNDERSTANDING AND NON DISCRIMINATORY NATION OF OURS), our youth seems to be regressing even further, I see more what the British term "chavs' than ever before, obesity has hit and has been at a stupidly high level, people eat too much fast food..... yeah, I can kinda keep going for another 500 or so words on that, but it's getting late and can't think of more stuff. But I guess it's kinda good being isolated from a large proportion of negative stuff like wars, living somewhere with a lower poverty and average crime rate per capita than the US, the economy has been pretty strong in recent times. We are some of the most well off people in the world, more so than many other first world countries. I guess all in all, it's good being an Australian, although not patriotic really, that is the stuff of epic failure in world history as we have seen.

I'm British and I'm a fan of European bands like Golden Earring, Wigwam and the German groups signed to the Brain label. Making music away from Britain and America seems to add something.

I'm Canadian. We have some fairly nice trees as well, but when I think about it, I have the most generic nationality ever. Half the people on this continent are Anglo-Saxon like I am.
What does it take for a little Russo-Finnish justice?

I'm a proud Englishman... except I'm anti-Monarchy and I dislike our National Anthem. But I am very happy to be English. I don't think I'd want to be from anywhere else.

I'm from the US; love my country, love the people...warts and all. I'd still like to travel though, maybe live in other countries because there are many great places in the world.
