Well I'm meeting Man-Erg and Postingismylife in April, at the VdGG gig at Barbican. If anyone else is going to be in attendance, then there is a chance of meeting you there.

Well Stonebeard, thanks to Prog Archives I have enjoyed two great Prog Archives meetings (in my hometown The Hague with Joren, Alucard, Syzygy, Sean, Dutch Tony and Oliverstoned) and in Paris with Oliverstoned and Alucard (I was allowed to use his appartment ). But Prog Archives is my 'Freudian sofa' and my psychological mirror so in the end I came back because it's such a great place to meet fellow progheads, to join threads, to write reviews and to hail the Mellotron And in fact every I learn as much on Prog Archives from myself as during my work as a psychiatric nurse ! |
I'd say the same than Erik, meeting a few of you in London, DenHaag and Canterbury was awesome.
I'd love to meet some more of the members around, like Bob, James (the two of them Gecko and Salmacisà) Tony (also two of theml) , our Baldies (two missed tries), Snowie, and so many more on this side of the Atlantic.
I'd also love to get together in a PA meeting across the Atlantic (somewhere in Vermont, to give equal chance to our Canadians and the BosNyWash metropolis to attend.
Generally the best bunch of virtual friends around, really.
And Chris (Syz) and Martin (Alu) for our third meeting in a few weeks at the RIO festival

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

He certainly used to have at Didcot; we used to work on his big boy together occasionally... so did Vicky! Sometimes there were anything up to 15 of us at it at the same time - once, we spent a whole week doing nothing but stripping down, ready for a bloody good service!
Neil's going to kill us, isn't he?

Next time Vicky & I visit Heavyfreight in Toddington, we'll have to arrange a meet somewhere. Maybe he'll give you a ride on his loco... |
Going Loco down in Toddington... sounds fun. I used to go to The Watercress Line (aka The Midhants Railway) a lot when younger, but haven't been there for years. I also once went to Blunsdon (which isn't far from me) and had a look at the choochoo trains there too. Maybe I can sit on his saddletank?

What started out as an experiment to enhance my hobby, has turned into something I never expected. I have never been a member of any forum, nor did I desire to be, but I had so many questions. So, almost a year ago, I joined up, and look at me now. This has been a great experience, and continues to be. The caliber of the people around here is exceptional. I have had many great exchanges here. Some of the most beneficial ones were arguments. That is how I met one of my best friends here (and wound up on the Symphonic Team ). There are also many others that I consider friends here. I didn't think it was possible to make real friends in cyberspace, but thank fully, I have been proven wrong.
To you all.
And
And a special one for Stonie, for starting this thread.

But seriously, P.A. apparently is the the bane of my existence. I live here, I'm a part of the furniture and it's really difficult for me not to visit here daily.
I've met one member of P.A. (prog-chick) and I planning on meeting two others in April, so it's not just a forum, I have many good friends here and maybe one day I'll finally meet some of you for real.
If that happens, bring some ear defenders.
