Seems just a bit lacking in details. An edit should fix that, IMO.

PINK FLOYD Wish You Were Here
Review by Jota_Quezada WYWH isnīt the best album in the PF history, and I think it doesnīt even reunite the merits to be in the "key album" charts for this band. I think that of the whole LP, the only song that really contributes to the band trascendence is Shine On You Crazy Diamond (both parts). Not even Wish You Were Here, that may be the most known of the songs of the band, but far away of the better one. I think that Dark Side of The Moon, Piper At The Gates of Dawn or Meddle for example, are far away better albums and more important albums that WYWH was: musicaly and in concept terms. Says nothing, other than that the other PF albums are better. |

True - although the phrasing suggests otherwise (at least for me, not being a native speaker). You decide, I'm only expressing my impression here. |

A decent review - but I wouldn't mind getting rid of the last sentence: "Buy it as a fan, if not, download / check the songs i quote." Just in view of all the actions taken against downloading - to which I agree to the extend that it doesn't only hurt the record companies but also the artists. Not something PA should be promoting I guess. Angelo N.B. don't want to put extra load on our moderators by sending in two items within an hour of each other - this is just one of these nights that I spent reading reviews while listening to the music at the same time. |

Looks like something to get rid off - and direct the author to the forum for requesting whether DVD material is also available on CD... |

It's a fair point CCM, but we have to assume that the rating people have given an album reflects their overall feeling about it. There have been the occasional misconceptions, such as the guy who through 1 star meant it was number one, i.e. the best.
If you think someone's rating is at odds with their review, you could always drop them a friendly PM.

The definition of 1 star is a generalization. Ultimately 1 star is a subjective rating made by a person. True, it would have to convince that the album is not very good, but in what proportions (from "I enjoy some-but generally it's a stinker" to "I think this album's NOTHING! PURE NOTHING!" and so...), that's up to the reviewer.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the specified reviews: Erik talks of Tales as one of his biggest disillusions. he says he enjoy Wakeman's solo end in side 1, not side 1! Overall, he justifies well-enough his discontent regarding something that, for him, doesn't have the Yes Magic. Opeth's 1 stars or low characterization have been a recent thing in this topic to complain about, still he also nothing to be judged about (even more than Erik!). In fact, he's even more virulent about the huge deficit of the album. Thus with a prevalent use of negative reflections, he's clear in every aspect. So I correct you, cheesecake, the reviews from Erik and Opeth regarding Tales Of Topographic Oceans are fine, with a considerate subjective rating that gets the explanation necesarry. |

Just curious, if someone gives an album 1 star in a review they're basically saying there is nothing enjoyable and/or redeemable about the album. I was looking at the Tales from Topog Oceans reviews by Yes, when I save two reviews one by Erik Neeut-something rather and Opethguitarist, they both gave the album 1 star then mention how they enjoy some of it, Erik says he enjoys side 1 of it. To me you can't give an album 1 star if you like some of it thats why there is 2 stars for that. Anyway correct me if I am wrong about the definition of 1 star reviews.
To me then 1 stars are more just reactions to the five stars to bring the album down then to give an objective score.
Just curious, correct me if I'm wrong. Edited by Cheesecakemouse - August 14 2006 at 05:58 |

If Celestial Voice had explained the motive of its first assertion in the context of the album would have written an excellent review. Other motive to eliminate this type of reviews!!!
