Micky, if you want some other recomendations, visit www.progwalhalla.com, English version, Progrock Files Spain. Let me know your experience, OK?

hahhaha same here we've been married for 11 years.... Well she loved the flowers but  she knew I wanted something... she asked what it was....... I told here I NEED more  Prog Andaluz!!!!!... she just laughed and said that I'm hopeless.   You know what.... I guess I am hahahhah.  The jury is still out though... I may have to resort to.... other  means of persuasion hahahha.

I'll check out that website.... Thanks again for all the input.  I love those albums.

I'm sorry I didn't please you on this one, my dear Erik. I just didn't see the need to see the expansion of folk-prog sub-labels such as: Flamenco prog/Prog Andaluz, Celtic prog, Tango prog, Andean prog,... The folk prog label or a review describing a "symphonic prog band with stron folk tedencies" should suffice. The best thin that has come out of this wonderful thread is the call for attention on all these bands. There's this band, ALAMEDA, that is still to be included in the Archives: not the best of the Andaluz side of prog, but still a very good band with some great material in their discography.

   Regards.

stepping lightly in the land of giants hahahha....

Cesar - you bring up valid concerns.....  lord knows I know nothing about Celtic, Tango, or Andean prog hahahha.  Though give me time hahah  Having it's own prog sub-label would definitely go a long way to stimulating interest in Prog Andaluz but I guess we should settle for this thread. I'll do my part to stimulate some interest.  Let's  hope that people actually read up on all the recommendations here,  and dip their toes in the water and get an album or two to check it out.

*bump* and a muchas gracias to you all..

got Atila- Reviure and Mequita- Recuerdos de mi tierra  the other day..... they've been swapping space in the CD player since then.   EXCELLENT albums... and I can't wait to hear more...

EXCELLENT INDEED! In a way, I envy your "newbie" position, the magic of listening to those albums for the first couple of times... that magic that never gets repeated again.

Regards... and Micky, keep on enjoying.

thanks and I am throughly enjoying my 'newbie' position hahhaha.  I plan on keeping on enjoying... I bought my wife some flowers today to get on her good side.... I need to place another order hahahhaha.

It's no problem, Cesar, I only gave expression to my disappointment. I don't agree with your abovementioned opinion but life goes on  . It's great to notice that this topic has shown the increasing demand for Spanish prog, most of it is unknown territory for many progheads so it is grateful work to write about it, my dear Cesar, isn't it?

Great albums. I'll be getting that Mezquita and a Triana album in my next purchase.

Erik, what is the status of your "crusade" for recognition of prog Andaluz?

Anyway, thanks for this thread. I learned about new bands and albums which I will be hunting down to listen to.

oh no... the American south..... a  desolate wasteland of things prog.  Have to do all my shopping via the internet hahahah.  Problems with Becks... nah... she's a redhead.. if it's not the CC bill it would be something else... like  the way I dress myself hahahahha (still have a thing for flannel shirts hahahha)
I wouldn't trade her for anything though... she puts up with me.  I married 'up' not 'down'

Just my two cents and thinking outloud......

I agree with you, micky. One of the reasons I would like the "Prog Andaluz" sug-genre to be created is because that would be a way of increasing the interest for this particular style from my country. I think it deserves much more attention

I have only heard Los Canarios- Ciclos, but have two on order.   Mezuquita- Recuerdos de mi Tierra, and Atila- Reviure.  Baby steps for now I know, 'so much prog so little time' hahahha but I'm sure I'll love them.  Hopefully I'll be able to add more to the discussion rather than being a meer cheerleader for Erik and his crusade hahahah.
