Statements like this are quite annoying. Why does this thread exist anyway? What is the purpose of such a thing? To piss off other members of this forum? That's the only reason I can see.
...as Tony R said....it's all about personal taste.

Dont take offence It's not a serious thread

Prog Metal (from the 80's especially) has it's fair share of cheese.

I think alot of modern prog bands have some element of cheese, basically cause they're trying too hard - Spock's Beard, The Flower Kings, Symphony X, Magic Pie, Wobbler, all those new bands with all songs 15+min.

It's not borderline anything...it is called personal opinion based on personal taste.

When Zappa did cheese, it was on purpose, and very funny.
But most progressive after 1976 is already swimming in
fondue...as we get to the 80s, the stench becomes
unbearable...the solo projects by ex-Genesis members (not
counting Gabriel), especially later Tony Banks reak to high
heaven of stinking Roqueforte!!! Like Toto on steroids!!!
Agghhhh!!!!!!

I find all of the Spock's Beard material to be filled with cheese. Just hearing Morses voice brings on the smell of cheddar. Ayreon is also high on the cheese factor. Albums like "The Electric Castle" are full of cheesy lyrics and sound effects.

ALOT of dream theater is cheesy.
Magic Pie is cheesy cliche. "i believe in a better future, i will give
shelter to the poor! give me your hand, ill show you the door!"
plus birds chirping at the beginning of the song (biggest cliche ever)
= CHEESE

Owner Of A Lonely Heart is too horible to be describe as cheesy...plus I don't find it really cheest...just plainly bad...
Owner Of A Lonely from [ABWH] An Evening Of Yes Music Plus IS
cheesy,Anderson takes some range concerning vocals,ouch!...but the
original no(t that)...
is cheesy a synonim for bad...well,I'm not saying it's a quality either, but don't think so...
