Dark Matter - I'm 2 episodes through so far and I can't wait to see the rest and how the story unfolds. Sc-fi, parallel universes is definitely my type of show. It's very well done and reminiscent of the superb Counterpart, which was cruelly axed after 2 seasons.

Stars Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly:

^ That happened quite near to where I come from (Swindon) so was a big local story at the time.

Just finished Insomnia, the psychological drama from Paramount starrig Vicki McLure from Line Of Duty. It got very silly in the end. Felt like the last couple of episodes had been rewritten and re-shot to make it punchier although that may not have been the case. For the first 6 episodes I would have been looking at an 8 or 9/10 but in the end 7/10.

currently watching Presumed Innocence and Dark Matter. Both make Wednesday nights a real pleasure when new episodes drop!

Finished series 3 of Sweet Tooth last night. A good conclusion - I liked it (se02 notwithstanding). 8/10 overall.

A 3 part documentary/drama on UK Ch4 - The Fall: Skydive Murder Plot

This is a true story about a woman who was supposed to die
In 2015, skydiver Victoria Cilliers miraculously survived a 4,000-foot fall to the ground when both of her parachutes failed on a jump. It soon becomes clear that this 'accident' was actually attempted murder... and her husband Emile is the prime suspect.

Hear from Victoria in her first in-depth TV interview in this innovative True Crime docudrama.

The drama elements are done in a very strange way and 3 episodes are maybe a bit too long. Fascinating stuff though.

Sweet Tooth Season 3 (the last one). The first series was great, the second not so much. This final season is a return to form and seems to be heading to a satisfactory conclusion.

Tree On A Hill 2024 6 episodes
Another Welsh located TV drama, this is even more weird than The Red King and is centred around a very ordinary midddle aged couple who commit a crime, allbeit accidentally, and then find themselves getting in deeper trying to cover it up. Quirky and fun. 8/10

The Red King 2024 6 episodes
Set on a small Welsh island, this has Wicker Man vibes all over it. I enjoyed the creative writing, strong acting and satisfying ending. 9/10

Manhunt 2024 7 episodes
About the events surrounding the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, interesting to learn about Andrew Johnson's presidency as he tries to put the brakes on America's reconstruction post the abolishment of slavery and the end of the civil war. The key character in this drama though is Lincoln's staunch alley Edwin Stanton (played by Tobias Menzies who also played Prince Philip in The Crown) who held the office Secretary Of War and goes up against Johnson as well as leading the manhunt for Lincoln's killer John Wilkes Booth. 7/10

Hi,

Wow ... I definitely would like to see this ... the movie by Nicolas Roeg was excellent, even though there were some major cuts that took out a lot of the music material ... which I think was really good, per the albums that came out at the time ... and probably more music that we have not heard yet, or never will!

The fudging video is not available to watch in the West Coast (Amazon) ... gawd I hate some of this crap sometimes ... it hurts the art really bad!

Hi,

Ann Rice's best work is in her bunch of Erotica novels, many of which also take on a bit of pornography.

There are some important things here ... it takes "vampirism" away from its religious BS, and all of a sudden the stories are more interesting and take on different directions, than what we manage to find all the time in every danged vampire story ... always the same thing!

"Interview with a Vampire" would be way better, if it went full blast into the erotic style of hers. It would be a homosexual thing, but then that's like saying we never enjoyed the women thing in any of the vampire novels, going way back to Sheridan Le Fanu some 200+ years ago!

Eric. A six episode series on Netflix. Really good. It has Benedict Cumberbatch, one of my favorite actors. It tells the story of a nine year old boy disappearing on his way to school, in New York. (And, it takes place sometime in the 1980's). But, as the story unfolds, it's about so much more than a boy getting lost. I don't want to reveal anything here, but I would highly recommend it. Great story, great acting, and really good filming and directing.

Scorsese's PBS film on Dylan.   Well worth watching.

I think it was one of the best things I've watched this decade, with The Eddy a close second. 7/10

South Park: The End of Obesity (one off TV episode)
This has just dropped and possibly Trey Parker should hang his head in shame for producing such tired lame rubbish. Few jokes to speak of and very little creativity or energy. If there is such a thing as 'prog by numbers' then this is the South Park equivalent. 2/10

Wreck Season 2 2024 6 episodes
The first season of this horror comedy was set on board a cruise ship. The second season is 'grounded' and sees our protaganists pursuing the evil, clandestine and shady people that were behind all the mayhem. It's a hoot for horror fans although I prefer Season 1 because that had a natural claustrophobia and made more sense. Here we have that walking/ running towards danger that normal people never do. 7/10

Beacon 23 series 2. The first season wasn't great but this is worse. Maybe the fact that Lena Headey is no longer in it or that the story is as weak as cricket p!ss but whatever, it just isn't good. A shame really as I love these 'isolated in space' type shows normally. 3/10 for series 2, 4/10 overall.

Sugar 2024 (8 episodes)
Another book adaption (not one I've read) that on the face of it is just a homage to classic film noir. However seems to be something else going on that is very much in the background and could be a game changer. I'm hoping this will be developed further as we learn more about Colin Farrell's character and his origins. Interesting stuff. 8/10

The Gathering 2023 (6 episodes)
I do enjoy a mini series that can be binged in a day. This is shot in Liverpool with mainly a young cast. It's aim is very noble 'do not judge a book by it's cover'. Here we are treated with a multi-layered story about how parents can influence their progeny in good and bad ways. 'The Gathering' is an illegal rave at a beach at which an incident makes the local news. We then learn about the main characters via various events that lead up to this. 9/10

Series 1 of Interview With The Vampire. I've only very recently read Anne Rice's book and so was looking forward to this reimagination of the story. Well the shell of the story is the same, but a lot is changed, for the better? Actually I think it is. The book is dull at times, but this version moves things along at a pace. Of course the major change is that the main character is now black (the actor played Grey Worm in GoT) - but I really think the story has improved a lot because of this; it gives the whole thing a new perspective for the characters. Also whilst it was intimated in the book the love story between the 2 main, male vampires in the TV show it's blatant and no holds barred. There is also some nudity and also violence which was left to the imagination in the book, but here it's sudden and quite shocking - infrequent though. I haven't seen the movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt but I'm really enjoying this TV series. Series 2 has just started as well.
