Summer Madness: PA's Battle of the Albums

Hold on... don't call equality for imposing a discriminating point system on everyone. I am quite shocked as well, getting more points for being vocal changes the entire game... It would have made sense if you had done it from the start but now it's only confusing really, since now the final results won't be representative either way. 

Glad not to disappoint. I think its up to the poll/topic starter to create something interesting enough to start a discussion. I've never liked the different weighting of reviews, ratings and now votes-mentality of the site.

the key being..  I am trying to discourage random faceless voting (the half votes). and encourage people to talk about the albums (the potential to gain 2 votes). 

As simple as trying to explain why a particular albums grabs you. So much more interesting than merely stating that 'I voted for X' Thank Andrew for that.. reading his thoughts has been really neat.

BREAKING NEWS!! -  We got word this morning that PA's Tournament Chairman Mad Mick wanted to make an announcement to the forum. We just got word he has left his office and is now holding court in the bar and with a microphone. 'Hello ladies and gentlemen. First off I want to thank everyone for their participation in the contest polls and also thank everyone for their patience as we have severely disrupted the poll section with our flood of polls.  I'll make this short and sweet then answer any questions.

We are changing the schedule of the next stage of the tournament. We were originally going to run the 8 polls of the 4th round of the classics next week, followed the next week by the 8 polls of the modern polls then take a one week break for the Labor Day weekend. Instead of doing that we are taking a break next week and then on Saturday the 29th we will run both the classics and modern 4th round polls (16 in total).  Those polls will run for 2 weeks over the Labor Day weekend since many proggers, including myself with be getting drunk and enjoying Ut Gret and the rest of the bands at Progday.  I felt this was a good move as it relaxes the stranglehold we have had on the polls section for a week plus reflects the notion that with the 4th round we have hit the real decision point for these polls and any winners from these.. could be and should be seen as potential tournament winners. The merely good or simply great have been eliminated. Those albums still standing should be considered the cream of the crop.

and would like to wait on the tiebreak being settled being settled before moving on... but don't have all day.  So on to the moderns we go!!!
