Lots of mini flags on vehicles over the last couple of weeks. Mostly England but up here in this tourist town I live in we get tons of Toronto people visiting and we'll see plenty of flags from Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, France and Argentina. My neighbour is from Holland and it seems like the only time he's out at the end of his driveway being social is every four years for this World Cup.
I would love to see a final involving two South American teams, I think the only team that could knock off the home team(Brazil) would be Argentina. I'm really interested to see how Spain does, will their run continue. Germany is so good as well but it's hard for me to imagine a European team winning in Brazil.

Well, I must admit that I don't think Brazil will this (even if i'm brazilian). I think the better preparated teams are Germany and Spain. Brazilian team have a lot bad players, but with this actual coach (Luis Felipe Scolari, aka "Felipão"), we can reach the 3rd place, since he won in 2002.
Anyway, better you guys wait for a lot of people protesting outside the stadium, but this is for another thread...

I root for the same usual suspects (as the Magyars continue to suck) Belgium' les Diables Rouges , the Swiss and then the Dutch but they always fail at the finish line or earlier.

Great, that's settled then. I don't have to watch anymore I have no idea who's going to win, but I've got two favorites: Belgium (the country where I live in) and Holland (my country of birth). Hoping Belgium lives up to its promises. Have they grown in the last 4 years! Hoping the Netherlands show something better than the last European championship. Germany were great the last World Championship, like the Brazilians (and the Dutch) in the old days. I have a soft spot for them.

So it sounds like all that the US has to do is beat Portugal, and then they are guaranteed to make the championship game.

A - Brasil - Cameroon (Croatia) B - Spain - Netherlands (Chile) C- Colombia - Cote d' Ivoire D - Italy - Uruguay (I hate Italy's football but they always win) E - France - Switzerland (or Ecuador) F - Argentina - Someone (they all suck) G - Germany - Portugal H - Belgium - Russia Brasil Spain Uruguay Italy France Argentina Germany Portugal Then I'm confused as to the next fixtures, but in the end Germany thurd (always third nowadays), some ugly-playing team 2nd, and Brazil champ

I forgot to mention Belgium as a possible "new" champion... ah, I forgot Ecuador too.
What about the groups?
Remember it'll be AxB, CxD, ExF, GxH. EDIT: Alemanha = Germany. Edited by Atkingani - May 23 2014 at 13:59 |

Against your team, Cristiano. I mean he's great but I dislike him so much...

In defence of my own country, apart from 2002, since 1996 we were only ever eliminated from international competitions (World Cup & Euro Cup) by the winner or finalist of the competition.
