What's clear is that you didn't watch the second half. It was rough on us east coasters to stay up, that's true.

And then the hawks figured out their defense and in the second half dominated them on both sides of the ball

I was talking about some of the ESPN staff comments.....they made it sound like Hawks did not earn it, that Kapy bad play and flags helped. I agree, 49ers played great D for 2Qtrs.

What do you mean it wasn't earned? 49ers kept it close and played great defense for awhile. Then the seahawks wrecked them.

Its the normal non-west coast reaction to sports in the PNW, especially the game last night. If you read all the ESPN staff write-ups, yea most give some props...but not like it was earned. 49'ers D is damn good!! Hard hitting, rough, a bit thuggy at times and fast. They handled the Hawks O for 2 qtrs.....pretty good, I don't think many teams will be able to shutdown Sea for that long. But....Seahawks D was much better, we shut them down for 4 qtrs. San Fran never got a TD.... Are you kidding me!! They got 3 points ESPN writers, what game were you watching? Sea D is super fast and big....Gore had what 15yds rushing. It was a beatdown......and yes it was mainly done with the running game which also says a lot for the Sea O line. I saw a stat something like Sea has outscored SF like 70-16 in the last few meetings....pretty lopsidded if you ask me.

I would not call Lynch scoring 3 touchdowns a struggle against SF defense?

SF/SEA was some real ass football. A true defensive struggle, none of this containing/keeping big plays away but actual shutting down. Was a beautiful thing.
Not sure any other teams in all the NFL can do it, so we gotta enjoy this while we can.
I just couldn't stay awake any longer, (fell asleep when it was like 5-3) but looks like Seattle managed to grind it out.
Wouldn't call it a beatdown per se, the score is nice but looks like they really struggled against the SF D more like, well they grinded it out Which is great! Glad some teams can still manage to do that. Not just keep passing and heaving but actually run the ball out, make tough dirty plays etc Tough not to like Seattle this year. Well not much to say about that one, Giants sucked. Sad part is the secondary played decently enough, (esp for us) kept a lid on Peyton and co for the first half. And the interior D line was superb, they stuffed the run up the middle, Denver had nothing running in there, and even the few pressures on Peyton came from the middle. But our D ends were ghosts! No pressure, and burnt in the run. Credit to Denver, that's a good line and Peyton is a master of avoiding pressure (it's quite impressive to see in person) but still, JPP, Tuck and co have proven they can pressure even the best lines and should be better in the run.
Then it all fell apart, burnt on the exact same run play twice and the rest went to hell. Really though, the offense was a travesty. After that 50+ yarder to Cruz to open our game, Eli couldn't do anything. I dont know how good Denver's D is but again, unacceptable knowing what they can do...the run game was a joke. Jacobs return was sure triumphant: 7 rushes for 4 yards a TD that took several tries, and Denver penalties, to accomplish. He was so pumped up...what 264 lb back goes down on first contact and can't make a yard?
Well, for the positives: It was nice having Terrel Thomas back, he was around the ball all day. The secondary contained well enough considering all the weapons, and seriously our D tackles are all beasts. If the ends can get pressure up that D line will be a force of nature. Eli and co will get it together, I pray
I do have to say, Eli had two TDs taken away from him. That one where the WR fumbled it practically on the goal line, and the TE who was running f**kin wide open and just trips on his own feet and falls flat on his face. First one game was still tight too...

^Typical Lions. The offense completely stalled out in the second half.

The mighty Arizona Cardinals have just snuck past the Lions to take a 25 - 21 lead with 2 minutes to go. No surprises that the Lions let the other team hang around long enough so that they could take the lead near the end of the game.

Of course they're passionate, emotional and competitive all that but sheesh, there's letting it out then there's carrying on like a total baby.

The latter half is true, and not new, they've had an easy road to the division win almost every year, and more recently some easy ass schedules and an overall lesser quality AFC so it's been fairly easy for the Pats.
But yeah, I'm sure the loss of 3 major targets, an injury to Almendola, Vereen and rainy conditions later on had absolutely zero impact, the Pats must be just total crap suddenly

Were they bad or were they missing their 3 best skill position players?
