Yes. As stated before, he was born more than hundred years ago, and he was born in the 20th century. He also lived to be more than 70, if that’s what you mean.

Notorious? For me that’s a very negative word. I would rather say that he became famous in the second half of the 20th century, and more in Europe than in America.

I didn’t say that. According to Wiki, the term has also been applied to all the visual (non-literary, non-musical) arts, and if that’s what you mean, the answer is yes.

"Plastic art" is an ambiguous term. If you mean art forms which involve physical manipulation of a plastic medium by moulding or modeling such as sculpture or ceramics (Wikipedia) the answer is no.
