RIP Greg Khin (of the Greg Khin Band). One of the biggest two hit wonders of the 80s has left us. Those of us of a certain age undoubtedly remember hearing TGKB on the radio. Weird Al even parodied his song "Jeopardy." RIP Greg.

John Mayall in Ostia (Rome), 1982.
One of the best concerts I've ever been at.

A big loss.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

John Mayall, age 90.

wow.

Bluesbreakers: Clapton, Jack Bruce, Green, Fleetwood, McVie, Mick Taylor, John Hiseman, Dick Heckstall - Smith.

From Mayall: Cream, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Colosseum, one of The Rolling Stones.
Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

I had the chance to see him in concert 2015 October 3rd . (Belgium, Liège, at The Refektor, small venue).
The room was crowded, the group that accompanied him was young and excellent . In addition, the backing musicians showed great joy and respect for this 80 y.o.+ old bluesman who was always alert and charismatic.
How lucky to have been there!
Thanks John

RIP

RIP to the late great John Mayall of the famed Bluesbreakers, age 90. One of the guys I'd listen to for hours trying to pick up the blues harp as a teenager.

Watched him every Saturday night in the '70s.   Someone here has a great quote from him--   "I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'."

"Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."   -- John F. Kennedy

RIP. Also, Paul, you frightened me with that video embed, cuz at first glance, I thought the GOAT Jack Nicholson passed away.

Sorry to hear that, having just watched Shelley Duvall again in The Shining with mad axeman Jack Nicholson. That's the last time I saw Shelley on film, so I never pictured her as someone of senior years. Broken Heart

Here's Johnny!
