In prog I have a hard time picking a song as so many of the best ones belong to an album where the quality of both is extremely interdependent.

Okay fine, I vote for "Starless" (Unlike with albums, I don't usually rank individual songs, but "Starless" is one of those rare instances where one song eclipses the entire output of a band, so it seems like a logical choice.)
