I would think 99% know enough about Pink Floyd and some of the other band intros mentioned....unless you just crawled from underneath a rock or have been in a coma Wink.

I have probably read less than 10 of the bios......Bad on my part Disapprove, I should read more of them to show appreciation for those that wrote or compiled themThumbs Up.
I think a band like Pink Floyd are epic enough they don't need a 10 paragraph bio....A short history, bio, discography and then be done with it.
I'm sure there are TONS of fan websites that pay homage to Pink Floyd in a more detailed manner than the PA does......but again this is a music website, not a specific band website.

I'm sure i saw you in the rye earlier.

It's when you come on to an internet forum and make a statement which is either hostile, blatantly wrong, or against the views of many on the site in order to get a strong reaction.

in fact, i`m preparing the material. a concise but also definite one. although all of the disagreement of the people here which was unfortunately  kinda misbehave in some cases, i still have my objection as tough as the beginning on the short and useless introduction about PF. i try to be friendly all the time but if i c improper reactions, then i don`t mind and do my own work. of course i`ll provide a better one and present it for site admins. PF deserves a nice introduction. some people here said in replies that this is not an encyclopedia. so how come that king crimson has such a broad introduction in a couple of paragraphs?! so does it mean that just in the case of PF it is not an encyclopedia???!!!!! but for others there`s no problem! PF is not my idol, but in fact i don`t like mis-judgment. we have to be honest with ourselves and if we find out that something is wrong somewhere we should try to improve it rather than providing reactive and aggressive reasons just to make ourselves feel good! i`m new here but i do my best to have a share in prog-music. and i don`t let anyone make me disappointed. everyone should know it here. such kind of behaviors resulted in this terrible situation that good music is almost dead and the world is ruled by actors (and not musicians) such as lady gaga, rihanna and other industrial idols.

sohraab, I am actually fine with the band description of Pink Floyd, but if you think you can come up with a better one, feel free to write it and publish it here; the administrators then will take a look at it, and if they agree that your band description is better it will be replaced

I've been wondering for a while. Troll? Trolling? What is it?

Insofar as Sojourn's attack is directed at me, I can only say that I'm not questioning the semantics of the words "help" and "create" - just their context.  I'm not "regurgitating" any philosophy, just quoting David Byrne (Whose name I shamefully misspelledEmbarrassed) to convey a simple subjective message that facts ought to be objects of doubt.

My 'superiority complex' offers more frustration than fun, unfortunately - but I can't be helped. I descend directly from aristocrats - it runs in my blodTongue

You may find that it is a fact that Pink Floyd "helped" create the genre, you may also find that the use of the word "helped" implies that there may have been many more "helpers" which should make sense to you, as prog comes from a large span of varying influences. However i was merely pointing out the fact that as Pink Floyd were such original and early inovators of psychadelic music which later was a large part of the evolution of prog, they do deserve special treatment. This is so that people can truly understand the importance of this band to the genre. And concidering that this is the PROG ARCHIVE it may be important to  people interested in or learning about prog to know an accurate version of the story of the band Pink Floyd. Not only that, but i believe this forum is about the article on Pink Floyd, not being good enough, which therefor means that it is not that they deserve special treatment, but the same treatment as all the other innovating bands, such as crimson that were mentioned earlier.
If you want to be an arsehole and diss on a whole fan base to make you feel superior, you may want to start arguing the correct argument instead of regergitating a completely unoriginal phillosophy to try and change my use of words.
The worst thing one can do when arguing is tangent, because now you are void.

Congratulations on buying the 'GI-GO entry package' to PA. We hope you will enjoy many years of trouble free trolling utilising our state of the art and patented 'Fan Boy Flamer' technology.

BTW The user name Crude Little Runt is still up for grabs
