Apples to mud? What a stupid, knee-jerk thing to say.. more like apples and apple pie.

Strange comparison. Fripp is much, much better, but it's basically meaningless. It's like comparing apples to to mud.

Exactly and closer to Fripp since Signals !

Wonder how Alex Lifeson would vote, eh?

Two very different styles, both play in a very different manner.
Fripp adds to the band unique substance, while Page is the lead instrument in Led Zep.
Who is the better? I have no doubt, even not being a guitarist, that Fripp is the better one.
Who is my fave? Can't say, like I said , both very different styles of playing which are great in their own way.

Holy Fr*pp
Gave him my vote as well.
A real good question would be Frith or Fripp.

I have to say Page. Fripp may be a better technician, but he's less fun to listen to.

Fripp, easily. I've got almost all of Zep's records but never really got into them.

They really cannot be compared to each other, can they.
On pure personal taste, I vote for His Robertness. I love Zep studio, but always found Page shocking live.

This is a pointless poll!!! First of all, in terms of artists, one should never state who is better, but, who is your favourite, instead. Second, what's the point of comparing two guitarists of two different styles? I would understand a poll between Page and Blackmore, Clapton or Beck. It's the same thing as trying to compare Mozart with Coltrane, jeezz. Sorry about my rant, but this is simply annoying and irrelevant s*it that just drives people away from the forum and the good and interesting posts that sometimes tend to appear.

I think that's praising Fripp a bit too highly. I can't find a single piece of guitar work by him that makes me think "God that's good". Generally I think "what the **** is this guy trying to do?". Page is generally pretty good on record but was quite sloppy live. I'll abstain on this one.

Surprisingly difficult, but I'll go with Fripp.

Led Zeppelin are my favourite band and a large part of that appeal boils down to Page's fantastic riffs. He's a fine soloist too and although he can be a bit sloppy I preffer him to the undoubtedly excellent Fripp. Fripp it has to be said is technically superior though.
