great guitarists When you talk about Montoya do you mean Ramon or Carlos Montoya?
|
Carlos, but the little I've heard of Ramon definitely makes him a contender! I'm a big fan of flamenco. One of the reasons why I love Mezquita.

Not forgetting Bert Jansch and John Martyn.
John Fahey is another real master of the acoustic guitar, and a lot of his work has been reissued recently - try The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death.
Eric Clapton Unplugged is beneath contempt .

Out of this list, Paco gets my vote.
My fave acoustic guitarist; Michael Hedges (RIP).

I hate this album, very amateur and poppy...Clapton belongs to these artists who play with their popularity to make third rate albums!! Moreover he just dosen't know how to play with an acoustic guitar.

From the list Steve Howe.
My preferred choice would be Stephen Caudel.

I really like Paco de Lucía too. We owe the flamenco's actual status to
him, before Paco it was still understimated even in spain, they wont
show flamenco in the royal theater!.
But.. I must insist with the other guy

From this list, Paco de Lucía is way ahead everyone, don't understand the mention of Erick Clapton, who is not even in the level of Steve Hackett.
BTW, Why isn't Hackett in the list, has anyone ever heard Midsummer Night Dream?
