It is both (depending on who reviews the albums etc)
Many reviewers still review the albums as GUY Manning...so it IS confusing Albums:Only the 1st album was released as GUY MANNING rest as MANNING Live:The band go out as MANNING |

Oh Laura-musicians...
OK, sorted. By the way, should we change the band name from GUY MANNING to MANNING?

Current Biog for future reference...
GUY MANNING is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist with an eye toward ambitious concepts, something he shares in common with earlier artists like CAT STEVENS and ROGER WATERS. In fact, his music has been described as an acoustic PINK FLOYD (comparisons to THE MOODY BLUES also hold). Known to prog rock fans through his work with PARALLEL OR 90 DEGREES, MANNING released his first solo album, "Tall Stories For Small Children," in 1999. His sophomore effort was a concept album that featured a reunion of sorts with PARALELL's Andy Tillison. "The Ragged Curtain" dutifully followed in 2002. MANNING stands poised to inherit the mantle of the melancholy bard which has long been the birthright of England's moody geniuses. "The View From My Window" (2003) is centred on the 20 minute epic Suite : "Dreams" about the different ways that we all look at and perceive the world. This album utilises far more nice proggy layers, good guitar solo's, keyboards, mellotrons all over the place and Laura with her sax is always good to hear. |

That new Biog looks fine to me Guy. I'm not saying you had to provide it. I'm saying this is errors and omissions. The people who wrote your Bio would probably be someone from the Eclectic Prog team, or whichever team added you to the site. Any way I will update it with this.
But Notaproghhead is right...the current Biog does not mention any players. Just saying......

Oh for goodness sake!!..come on, I wasn't me being confrontational..I only asked for a simple request..i.e. to update the site text because it was really awful and I wanted to improve the site. I also stated why I thought it was bad and then I get nitpicked over the wording of the request...do me a favour!
I have asked several times (unsuccessfully) for an upgrade and have never been asked to provide a biog to replace it...or thought I should (objectivity again) as I did not provide the original ...I always thought that the site admins. had created it.
Try this slightly amended version: The band MANNING has been in existence since 1999, formed around singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Guy Manning. Guy was previously an associate of PARALLEL OR 90 DEGREES (PO90) and also a founder member of the internationally respected, THE TANGENT. MANNING produce an eclectic mix of music which broadly falls within the 'progressive' genre, but in reality spans many different musical forms from ballads and folk-tinged songs through to all-out rock workouts and true progressive epics. The band experienced a surge of interest and support, with the 2007 album “Songs From The Bilston House” having been nominated for "Album of the Year" by the Classic Rock Society (CRS) and performing a series of storming headline gigs in support of the critically acclaimed follow up album, “Number Ten” (released 2009). Being an eight piece band, the sizeable line-up is able to reproduce the quintessentially symphonic Manning textures & sound on stage. Manning have also been very fortunate in having some well respected musicians making special guest appearances on the albums including Andy Tillison (THE TANGENT & PO90), Laura Fowles, Ian 'Walter' Fairbairn (LINDISFARNE & JACK THE LAD Plus HEDGEHOG PIE), Angela Gordon (MOSTLY AUTUMN), Martin Orford (IQ), Marek Arnold (TOXIC SMILE & SEVEN STEPS TO THE DOOR) and Leon Camfield (TINYFISH). 2010 was a milestone breakthrough year for the band with some amazing festival slots including the first venture over the Atlantic to appear at the RoSfest in Gettysburg, PA. USA in May. The eleventh MANNING album "Charlestown" was released in Oct 2010 and was again nominated by both the CRS and the Italian ProgAwards for "Album of the Year". 2011 continued all the hard work with even more UK dates and a brand new (12th) studio album "Margaret's Children". Thanks Guy |

I agree your BIo here leaves a lot to be desired and we thank you for your help. But please don't be confrontational Guy. We are only here to help. Our job is errors and omissions. We will gladly replace an old BIo with a new one written for us. Anything further than that is extra personal effort. Which we are also willing to do as Eugene has proved.
Eugene...great effort

I don't want to argue.
Here is slightly reworked bio from your site: The band MANNING has been in existence since 1999, formed around singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Guy Manning. The band has experienced a surge of interest and support, with the 2007 album “Songs From The Bilston House” having been nominated for "Album of the Year" by the Classic Rock Society (CRS) and a series of storming headline gigs in support of the critically acclaimed album, “Number Ten” (released 2009). Other members of MANNING are: - Julie King - additional keyboards, percussion and backing vocals - Kris Hudson-Lee - basses - Kev Currie - electric / acoustic guitars and backing vocals - Steve Dundon - flute and other blowable things - Chris Catling - lead guitars and backing vocals - Martin Thiselton - keyboards and viola/violin - Rick Henry - drums and percussion. Such a sizeable line-up is able to reproduce the quintessentialy symphonic Manning sound on stage. Manning have also been very fortunate in having some terrific musicians making special guest appearances on the albums including Andy Tillison (THE TANGENT and PO90), Laura Fowles, Ian 'Walter' Fairbairn (LINDISFARNE/JACK THE LAD AND HEDGEHOG PIE), Angela Gordon (MOSTLY AUTUMN), Martin Orford (IQ), Marek Arnold (TOXIC SMILE and SEVEN STEPS TO THE DOOR) and Leon Camfield (TINYFISH). What do you think about it? The only problem is that in case of any line-up changes it will not be actual again. In my opinion it's better to replace these two paragraphs: "Other members of MANNING are: - Julie King - additional keyboards, percussion and backing vocals - Kris Hudson-Lee - basses - Kev Currie - electric / acoustic guitars and backing vocals - Steve Dundon - flute and other blowable things - Chris Catling - lead guitars and backing vocals - Martin Thiselton - keyboards and viola/violin - Rick Henry - drums and percussion. Such a sizeable line-up is able to reproduce the quintessentialy symphonic Manning sound on stage." with a phrase like "8-piece line-up with a big variety of electric and acoustic instruments
is able to reproduce the quintessentialy symphonic Manning sound on stage". Please correct the phrase if you'd like, my English is far from perfection. Edited by NotAProghead - January 18 2012 at 10:45 |

Really?...the ONLY musician (apart from me) currently mentioned is Laura who has not been with us for over 3 years...if you really want to argue about it
The current BIO is also badly written and not grammatically correct..so I had hoped to improve that..I did not write it By all means, take the 'superlatives' out of the Web site BIOG..I did not write it.. nor did I ask for it to be used here word for word...but merely as a starting point (use of content)...it was a 3rd party (non band associate) that wrote it and so I have no axe to grind there.. I wanted to improve the site...if that is not wanted or desired then please leave it as it is |

^ The best place is as Snow Dog mentioned (i.e. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=82726).
But that's not the case.
Current GUY MANNING bio does not cite many "musicians who are not involved any more": http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=229 But if you'd like current bio to be replaced with the one from your site, I think we can do it (maybe without words "amazing", "terrific" etc, because on PA it should be more or less neutral). If you prefer another band's photo, please give us a picture (or a link).
