This is a good list that will definatley help me hear more good prog. The one thing I don't get is why Lark's Tounges in Aspic is on there. I haven't listened to the whole album, but I have listened to all four parts of the song, which I had to force myself to do. To me, it sounded like an unsuccessful experiment, one that didn't really go anywhere. But perhaps the other tracks on the album are better.

Yeah, all the albums in this list were voted on at the back end of 2007. A second list was voted on at the end of 2008 and the results were posted middle of last year, you might find it if you search long enough.
I was going to give moreitsythanyou a hand with a third list at the start of this year but he's been absent since around Xmas.

Originally posted on another fairy tale; however, having now seen these results, I thought it might provoke a bear or two over here.

Actually it was done again this year. For some reason the 2008 version is still sticky and the newer one has sunk down to the bottom of the thread pile.

Yeah but this is the prog rock poll that places straight ahead jazz albums and other non prog albums above classics of the genre. As a measure of prog rock it is pointless. So Gabriel might not be in the top 200, but don't worry because the poll is bullsh*t.
|
Once again, this is not a prog rock poll. This is a music poll with no limits whatsoever.
