Now that I see this thread I will contribute. Be prepared for all of Rush's albums Wink (except for the one I don't have Cry).

Mmm I should have a list by maybe next week.

Itsy, just throw up a review for some album and at the end of it go, "GET YOUR LISTS TOGETHER, I MEAN EVERYONE!" and everyone will see it on the main page (and I mean everyone) and be like, "ohhh yeeeah, I forgot about that! I'm going to do that right now!" Trust me.

You all should really be getting those lists together. And I mean everyone.

Minimalism FTW!
I'm happy you like Lamentate, I too adore that album.

Got about 160 so far.

The real challenge will be to order them.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Good list.
That's more than OK to add just those that you really like (mine went up to like 3 star albums). In fact, it's undoubtedly encouraged. It's better to have an album on the list that a lot of people sort of like than one that only 2 people adore.

It was a little bit easier than I thought.  Although it's not perfect, it's pretty close.  I used only albums that like and own, so I could add more but I don't really want to.

  1. Porcupine Tree  -  In Absentia
  2. Opeth  -  Ghost Reveries
  3. Steve Reich  -  Music for 18 Musicians
  4. Pink Floyd  -  Wish You Were Here
  5. Pink Floyd  -  Dark Side of the Moon
  6. Opeth  -  Blackwater Park
  7. Jethro Tull  -  Aqualung
  8. Explosions in the Sky  -  The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place
  9. Pain of Salvation  -  The Perfect Element Part I
  10. Arvo Part  -  Lamentate
  11. Wes Montgomery  -  Smokin’ at the Half Note
  12. Bass Communion  -  Loss
  13. Camel  -  The Snow Goose
  14. Blackfield  -  Blackfield II
  15. John Adams  -  Complete Piano Music
  16. Opeth  -  Damnation
  17. Porcupine Tree  -  Fear of a Blank Planet
  18. Planet X  -  Moonbabies
  19. Porcupine Tree  -  Deadwing
  20. Steve Reich  -  Different Trains/Electric Counterpoint
  21. Symphony X  -  V: The New Mythology Suite
  22. Muse  -  Black Holes and Revelations
  23. Radiohead  -  In Rainbows
  24. Zero Hour  -  The Towers of Avarice
  25. Dream Theater  -  Metropolis Part II: Scenes from a Memory
  26. Shadow Gallery  -  Room V
  27. Bass Communion  -  Vajrayana
  28. Symphony X  -  The Divine Wings of Tragedy
  29. Adagio  -  Underworld
  30. Platypus  -  Ice Cycles
  31. Jethro Tull  -  Songs from the Wood
  32. Symphony X  -  The Odyssey
  33. Frank Zappa  -  Weasels Ripped My Flesh
  34. Kamelot  -  The Black Halo
  35. Mike Oldfield  -  Tubular Bells
  36. Dream Theater  -  Images and Words
  37. Emmerson Lake and Palmer  -  Welcome Back My Friends…
  38. Ozric Tentacles  -  Jurassic Shift
  39. Opeth  -  Deliverance
  40. Riverside  -  Voices in my Head
  41. Claude Bolling  -  Concerto for Classic Guitar and Jazz Piano
  42. Dream Theater  -  Awake
  43. Emmerson Lake and Palmer  -  Tarkus
  44. Nightwish  -  Once
  45. Genesis  -  Nursery Cryme
  46. Savatage  -  Dead Winter Dead
  47. Shaimus  -  Paper Sun
  48. Threshold  -  Critical Mass
  49. Redemption  -  The Fullness of Time
  50. Dio  -  The Very Beast of Dio
  51. Judas Priest  -  Metal Works ’73-’93
  52. Yngwie Malmsteen  -  Rising Force
  53. Circus Maximus  -  The 1st Chapter
  54. Dream Theater  -  Train of Thought
  55. U2  -  The Best of 1980-1990
  56. Various Artists  -  The Best of Bond…James Bond

At around 25 or so I started running out of favorites and went to albums that I really like.
