We're waiting for JD's final nomination and we're good to go, just 11 participants, have I missed anyone?

I noticed when going through the nominations that I did miss commenting on a couple of the entries (that were chosen *hangs head in shame*). I will listen to them in the am before going on to listening to all of the nominations again a second time. Please forgive my being remiss.

Amos Goldberg (professor of Genocide Studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem): Yes, it's genocide. It's so difficult and painful to admit it, but we can no longer avoid this conclusion.

^ Thanks Cristi, nothing was broken, but I guessed you had missed it...
May I advise you to never follow advice? Anyway, lucky you, you already have a vote!

Thank you all for your comments, much appreciated! The opinions are divided and although my favourite artist Tash Sultana got some nice feedback, I feel that her style doesn't quite fit the theme. I like individualistic personalities like her and I think that Courtney Barnett comes closest with her witty lyrics and her speech-like/declamatory vocal performance ŕ la Dylan. So my nomination will be: I didn't manage to finish all comments on time but I promise that I will do my best in this final round. |

Just now I noticed your post. Thanks a lot for the advice, Lewian! I thought I was the only person here with that problem. It was embarrassing!

It's so hard to decide. I have it narrowed down to The Breeders and Linda Martini. I think I might save Linda Martini for another poll since The Breeders song is more of a hard rocker with attitude. But I'm going to use the second of The Breeders songs I posted.
So my nomination is The Breeders - "Cannonball" which is the one I wanted to go with in the first place for this poll. Edited by TCat - October 25 2021 at 09:27 |

I am in a lot of trouble, because I find myself in tune with Nickie and Mike, who prefer the song Ho sempre me by Cristina Donŕ but, to my amazement, I notice that Greg, Christian, Kees and Mila prefer the Ustmamo song .... So this time I follow the advices and nominate: Ustmamo: Tannomai I will reserve Cristina Donŕ for another poll Edited by jamesbaldwin - October 25 2021 at 08:48 |

I was trying to keep to live or semi live performances (although Joanne Shaw Taylor did not have a good live quality video) I think you made me re-evaluate how some noms work as live performances and some do not. I guess it depends on the sound quality and energy. The Ellips album version would have been a better choice for quality and not going off on solos etc., whereas the Imelda may studio version just did not have the same raw energy and attitude as in the live performance. So, I nominate, partly for those reasons, Imelda May - Johnny Got A Boom Boom Edited by tigerfeet - October 24 2021 at 20:29 |

I'm sorry, if you were right, I'd agree with you. Robin Williams.

I don't think that anyone here except me is following Eurovision. lol Though I see Go A as an ethno electronic/dance act rather than in the rock category? |

Same here, I thought Sylvia Juncosa was going to be the clear winner of the audience's prize (and I'd have nominated her for that) but now preferences seem to distribute almost equally. I think I surprise myself and nominate Go_A - Shum, even though maybe this is more known than the others.

Here are the other ones that I didn't finish earlier: tigerfeet: Ellips – Maailma on rikki – She’s definitely rocking, but the sound quality is not really great and the spotlight isn’t on her as much as I was hoping. Enjoyable track. Imelda May – Johnny Got a Boom Boom – This one is an excellent rocking song. Love the plucked cello and the guitar chords. I think this one would be my favorite out of the 3 you posted. High energy and lots of fun. Mila-13: Tash Sultana – Murder to the Mind – Yeah! Nice smooth, jazzy verses and a slightly more
intense chorus. I really like this, even
though it’s not necessarily “rock”, it still makes you want to move, and that
guitar solo is killer. Excellent vibe
and great vocal delivery. I will check
this one out a bit more for those more “laid-back” moods. Nice. Courtney
Barnett – History Eraser – This is my kind of rocking. More of an alt vibe, but that’s really what I
like. Great beat, mischievous attitude
and a very cool chorus. This would be my
choice for final nominations. The
Jezabels – Trycolour – This is another great track with amazing vocals and
is also in my wheelhouse (I have a house for wheels?). But I still love the high energy of the
Courtney Barnett track best. Go_A – Shum – Love the vocals and the originality of this one, the uptick in the tempo at the end is also great. My favorite of your submissions is still the Sylvia Juncosa track. Love that one. Victime – Fatigue – Great punk/noise rock vibe here. Love the attitude and the off-kilter guitar and bass. I noticed you decided on Eskaton already and that one is an excellent choice. |

Sadly I didn't manage to finish commenting. I did listen to all songs carefully, though and ranked them. You guys started the nominations already but well.
Cristi Joan Jett & The
Blackhearts, in case PD doesn’t nominate The Runaways. :P Second favourite: Blood
Ceremony. JD: Nina Hagen, the German Godmother of Punk. Mike: Linda Martini. Lewian: Ideal/Annette Humpe. Kees: Isia Malcom: Imelda May Greg: Melt-Banana & Eskaton Lorenzo: Ustmamo Nickie: Romeo Void I will do my nomination later. My favourite artist is Tash Sultana but she doesn't fit in really, so it's going to be one of my other two proposals, I guess. Thanks a lot for your comments Nickie, Greg and Kees. Much appreciated but now I'm even more confused! lol Edited by Mila-13 - October 24 2021 at 17:11 |

Alright, will bite the proverbial. Much as I would like to nominate all of my choices, particularly Melt-Banana,
I will nominate Eskaton - Dagon. Edited by Logan - October 24 2021 at 13:58 |
