Mnemosyne is fully right, except that you need to add the obligatory "to me" to his statement.
Musical taste is something fully personal, and even in the specialized subgenre of progrock, there is (I think) no-one who loves all the recognised masterpieces.
I love these Genesis albums (SEBTP is my absolute all-time favcourite CD in any pop/rock genre), but I fully understand that others will have a different opinion. Just like I don't see what's so special about ELP, King Crimson or Jethro Tull.

Abacab was uninspiring and dull, but I can't name a single album while they had Gabriel that was dull or uninspiring, though I have been a Genesis fan for 11 years...

Come off it, just because something isn't to your taste doesn't mean it's dull! There must be something to them since they're one of my favourite bands and "normal" symphonic prog is not something I'll give a second listen to generally!

And yes, I do like prog as well. If anyone's thinking of suggesting otherwise because I too can't see the appeal of Genesis, then quite simply: f**k you.
@ Trouserpress: For Avant-Proggers like you and me, Genesis will always sound uninspiring. Let's face it.

Each to their own of course, I'm not suggesting he has to like them, in fact I agree that to like Prog and genesis are not neccesary parings. Far from it in fact. After all, there are plenty thatdon't like ELP at all!
