Another one:
Andrew Lloyd Webber: Variations (although it's listed in PA) Also some parts of Jesus Christ Superstar sound like prog. |

I am well aware of ProgArchives rules about posting lyrics and this band has authorized me to post them on here
Forget About Me lyrics I just can’t forget about you, the way you forgot about me, how hard can this be? Well I’m going out of my head, this mess that you made, don’t clean so easy Some days I can’t make it out of my bed, some days, I spend hours on the things that you’ve said, ... Over and over and over again, something inside I just can’t defend. They say time heals everything, but that’s just a lie, to help you get by, And I’m walking around in a daze, but these lights never change, and the world has stopped turning Some days I wonder just what I have done, I spend every day, every day in a house not a home, Over and over and over again, something inside I just can’t defend. (Repeat) They say time heals everything, but that’s just a lie, to help you get by, Well I’m drinking whiskey all the time, yeah it’s killing the pain, but the it’s over again, Some days I wish I had never been born, I wish I could, rip out this heart and the pain would be gone, Over and over... :))) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

The Monkees – Porpoise Song. You heard me, the Monkees. The single from their controversial head-scratcher of a feature film, “Head”. I remember an appearance on Letterman by Carole King (who cowrote this and other songs in the film) where the subject of “Head” comes up, and she slams the song. I would have told her that sure, it’s her prerogative, but the arrangement they and the session musicians came up for it in the studio is nothing short of magnificent.Edited by AreYouHuman - July 16 2015 at 21:38 |

Did anyone mention The Stranglers' "Down in the Sewer" - a 7-minute epic in four parts with plenty of keyboards?

Not sure if this is relevant to the thread but on the latest Monochrome Set album Spaces Everywhere (an avowed post Punk art school guitar band) during 'Avenue' they quote verbatim (without any discernible irony) the Howe/Wakeman riff from Roundabout by Yes...what next, Mark E Smith in a sparkly cape?

It's gotta be smth like this:
Beatles - A Day in the life ELO - Mr.Radio/ Overture 10538 The Who - Quadrophenia Deep Purple - April Led Zeppelin - Kashmir Btw, a lot of songs from Procol Harum and Moody Blues will certainly do, but I think these bands should be considered prog in context of this topic

Pulp's 'This is Hardcore' is a fantastic prog track - full of drama, mood changes and an orgasmic climax at 03.38. It is one of the most cinematic pieces of popular music I have ever heard - very noir(ish)
