Oooh, some jazz at the Mercury Prize, finally.

Henry will still hate it though.

Okay, I will eventually need a new bass amp/preamp/cab, but I know even less about bass equipment than I do about guitar equipment.  Any recommendations?  Preferably something that's good for low muddy tones.

lol juzz doo ett. You won't regret it.

AHHHHHHHH I'm not that great at guitar, so I always feel like I'm kind of wasting my time.

Also, I'd have to put everything on a 12 month cost scheme, or take the $ out of my post-uni savings fund.
You'll notice yourself getting better quick, although if you're unsure, going for a cheaper model might not hurt.

@Kevin: I know a reasonable amount about gear just from chatting with friends now, just read around and you'll learn quickly.

Also, Mesa for 700$, wtf? They're literally 3000$ here.

He got it used in perfect condition. The guy needed to get rid of it, apparently.

I don't know anything about musical equipment, so I shall ignore all this talking.

Indeed.  I still suck compared to a lot of the veteran players here but I've made leaps and bounds teaching myself for just 9 months.  If I continue to get better at this rate I'll be as good as the 7-year players in only 3 or 4, maybe less with proper guidance.

My friend just got a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I don't play guitar, but apparently that's a pretty awesome amp.

Mesa Boogie amps are killer for huge crunch, but damn they're expensive.

Yeah he got a crazy good deal. He only paid $700.

Oh wow.  That's like almost half price.
