You'll be sad after De Profundis finishes.

Ajde Jano is just heart-wrenching (if that's possible).

The Godbluff/Still Life/World Record era isn't as exciting, I'm afraid.

It's all about the early material.  It's much more freeform.  The latter stuff is very much like the studio versions.

In fact, that's my favourite.  Banton is a beast on it.

Yeah, it's quite awesome and that's why I want more, especially from the '75-'76 tours.

Oh right.

I've never heard anything by 65daysofstatic so I cannot comment.

Ok James I'll check that out. BTW, I don't have anything against Harvest, I haven't even heard it. 65 just doesn't do soft music very well. :(

This album is completely amazing.

I think I'd cry if I saw them live.

Maybe.

I have some excellent ones featuring stunning versions of tracks such as Octopus, Afterwards and even White Hammer.

The only one I've been able to find is "The Killer Lives (Live Brescia, Italy - May 21, 1972)."  It's pretty awesome, it would be impeccable if the sound quality wasn't pretty bad, but that gives it a cool lo-fi almost punk attitude.  I'd like more though, maybe from Godbluff-World Record and then whatever else.  I've looked virtually everywhere and I can't find more, besides on torrents that would take months to download.

The Cracow Klezmer Band - De Profundis

That will change your mind of Klezmer.

It's one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Ajde Jano is an emotional trainwreck. Cry

Akrobakkus isn't meh at all.  It's a wonderful album.

They're not AM though and they're not trying to be either.  They play a completely different style of music.

I wouldn't emphasize on "completely", since the connection with AM hit me the most (true, not throughout the whole album, but a while after the half mark...).

They've got something different to offer, but they nonetheless didn't warm me a lot.

Well yes, they make klezmer music like AM do but they approach from a different angle.  So yes, tangentially speaking they're linked but they do sound different.

Yep.

It's probably me not liking klezmer/gypsy/such music that much. AM electrified me with their stuff, though, so they're special. Afenginn (with Akrobakkus) didn't click the same - at all.

I haven't heard Aranis yet I don't think.  I have two of theirs to check out.

Gah!

HP, check out The Cracow Klezmer Band - De Profundis

That album is beautiful and cripplingly emotional.  I get similar feelings from Salle Gaveau as well yet they play different music again.

It's the violin that does it.
