I can help you with Beatles and Maiden then

I'd go for Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road and the great but transitional Revolver as a start. White Album, Rubber Soul and Sgt. Pepper are a little bumpier, but I love them almost as much.

Iron Maiden is easy. Powerslave and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son are absolutely essential. You won't find better melodic pseudo-proto-prog metal than that, unless you prefer another Maiden album Next step could actually be a newer album, Brave New World, Dance of Death or A Matter of Life and Death
