I knew it would be a bit difficult, but that’s the charm of it, isn’t it? I have seen this monster myself, when it was in Sandvika outside Oslo. It’s too noisy to be driven on public roads, so today it’s only driven in closed areas (and not very often, I think). The car in the stop-motion movie is, of course, a miniature model, the full scale model was made later. In the movie the top speed is 400 km/h (or maybe more, the second speedometer stops at 400), in real life it’s only 180.

Nordic language, yes. (Is "Norse" correct? I associate it with the language spoken by the vikings, but you know English much better than I do, of course.)

Both the books and the film are European.

If it is animated it would not be unusual. Is it animated?

I found some clips on YouTube, and it is in fact dubbed. Unusual, as you say. Not exactly adventure series, more humor.
